I just played like 25+ Team Slayer games in a row, winning ALL of them and steaking like more than half of the games. I go up 5 lvls ...

I have been playing with the same 4 people and here are our lvls.
18, 12, 8, 8. This does not make any sense. The people at lvl 8 started at 1 and after 25 wins in a row they are now lvl 8.

We have played other people and they are saying they have the same problem.

Btw this is my other account. HERE

The Trueskill ranking system handicaps full party teams (a party of 4 in slayer for example). You will always have an extremely difficult time leveling up in full parties. Try dropping the weakest link from your group, and see if that makes a difference after a few wins.

r u sure cuz this is handicapped to the extreme. First 3 games Pie went from 1-6. Next 20 games he is now 8.

I'm sure. If you search the Bnet news archives throroughly enough you can find some good info on how the system works. I just already know it all/too lazy to dig it up for ya lol

The system is kind of like momentum. The more wins you have at the start, the more momentum you have which helps you level faster. So you probably couldn't level because you had lost some games earlier which made you lose your momentum.

Thats not really true. Yeh to a small extent momentum does carry, but not near as much as you think. The TrueSkill system is not a linear leveling system. It really doesnt matter how many W's you have in a row if you're still playing average/the same. Your personal skills need to improve in order to level up. This isn't Halo 2

It's because you have a static sigma. You've never lost a game in Team Slayer, therefore you have a very low sigma. This makes leveling up very difficult. Some other guy got a lot of ranked medals because he and a team of legit generals made new accounts and won about 125 Straight Team Slayer games and only got to about rank 20 because the sigma is too low. You'll find leveling up is much easier if you lose the occasional game.

That would be it if it is. Otherwise, either try dropping someone. Or play H2H or Lone Wolves, that way you only depend on yourself, not team members.

First off this belongs in the halo forums ..
Secondly i dont think its broke but i know its messed up ..
I tried to get my friend to lvl 20 and im a lvl 35 at team slayer but i lose one and it'll go down and it took me like 7 straight wins to do it ..
I just think the ranking system isnt too good in halo ..

Your example there is actually quite a good and normal part of a levelling system.

If you verse people lower than you, you have a higher rate of going up AND down. Vice Versa.

But yeah it is pretty retarded when you have to rin heaps of games just to go up one...nonetheless, it's all in the name of fun.
