(pronounced ['albin']) was a name intended for a Swedish child who was born in 1991.[1]
Parents Elisabeth Hallin and Lasse Diding had planned never legally to name their child as a protest[2] against the naming law of Sweden (Namnlag (1982:670)), which reads, "First names shall not be approved if they can cause offense or can be supposed to cause discomfort for the one using it, or names which for some obvious reason are not suitable as a first name."

Because the parents failed to register a name by the boy's fifth birthday, a district court in Halmstad, southern Sweden, fined them 5,000 kronorUS$682 at the time). Responding to the fine, the parents submitted the 43-character name in May 1996, claiming that it was "a pregnant, expressionistic development that we see as an artistic creation." The parents suggested the name be understood in the spirit of 'pataphysics. The court rejected the name and upheld the fine.

The parents then tried to change the spelling of the name to A (also pronounced ['albin']). Once again the court refused to approve of the name, citing a prohibition on one-letter naming.

In his first passport, the boy's name was given as "Icke namngivet gossebarn", meaning "unnamed little boy".[3]

I think parents need to look at a child's name with regards to how the kid will be affected by it in the possible future. It's one thing to have certain...morals (for lack of a better word) that you should adhere to as far as your personal freedoms and rights as a human go, but to pin those on an infant that will quite possibly be mocked and ridiculed for the rest of his life (or until he's of legal age to change it)because of it is just bad parenting. Way to start your child's life off on the wrong foot, you morons.

I remember in first grade, in spelling class, we had a bonus word to spell. It was the name of people in our class, and it changed every week. It would suck to have this person's name as the bonus word, lawlz.

Calling a child that has utter disregard for them. I think that it is to seek for attention thinking that they might get rich from this 'stunt'. If the parents do not agree to give the child a proper name the government should ask a relative to name the child. It may be against the law but it is much fairer for the child.

    Lol,

Those parents have some issues too.

Why didn't they name the child in the first place?
