Since only some items can float I say yes. Since there are official Rocket Race maps with floating checkpoints (more specifically Snowbound) I say yes. I think Bungie belived to see more aesthetic maps and such made by the community if they gave us more objects that can float. :squirrel_chatting:

NO... being a programmer I understand why it is not a glitch... there is a template for a basic object in forge where that object has physics applied to it when nothing is supporting it. They could have applied this template to teleporters and weapon holders and such but they didn't. They made a different template to cover immovable objects. It was intentional.

Of course its not a glitch, what would make you think that. How come everything floats downstream? Because its programmed too silly

AZN is right. It's intentional. If normal physics for, say crates, were applied to weapon holders and teleporters, logically the by-product would be that you could move them around with explosions. I don't think flying teleporters is such a good idea, but I digress. Also, with walls as a primary example, Bungie didn't want people to be able to knock useful objects down. But likewise, they also did not want the bugginess associated with drop pods.

i think originally it was not intentional. certian items may have been done to float for certain reasons. then when people learned to stack crates on teleporters they planned for floating items in the new maps.

It wasn't a glitch, but I don't think they intended us to use it for what we do now. They probably thought that teleporters and weapon holders in the air would make for an interesting map, but didn't think we'd try making floating platforms or immovable barriers with them.

There is no longer any debate about this. AZN summed it up. They had to apply the physics to the certain objects.

I don't know, but what Azn said makes sense, so yeah.

Additionally, save and quit is not a glitch either, as the code for the immovable objects is wherever the spawn point of tat object is when the game is saved is where it stays. So, when you hold a box upside down, the spawn "teardrop" is upside down and floating, so when you save, thats where the "teardrop" stays, and so, thats where the object stays. Its the same code as an object lying flat on the ground.  The teradrop is on the ground and right-side-up so thats how the object spawns.

The floating platform in NON-DLC maps was unintentional on bungie's part, but once they saw it, i believe they made all the objects in foundry immovable so they could float and such.

there will always be a debate as long as people are willing to talk about it, and obviously, people are.

Agreed about first sentence... but I dont think they really thought we'd have any reasons for us to make are teleporters and weapon holders float anyways... so they just went with it... and then they decided to make it easier in the new maps...
