Yes they do if they are screwed up, and there's to many of them. Also they really just are annoying sometimes, because your killing someone then they go through a teleporter around the corner and teleport behind you. then all of a sudden your dead and it really makes you angry.
If your teleporters are setup correctly, then they can be good for the map. However, they usually aren't, when used.
Any teleporter that leaves destination to chance is a failporter. Tactically placed teleporters can make maps winly.
They only annoy me when there is toomany of them, or if they are screwed up too much, but besides that i don't mind em.
There's a difference between having teleporters as part of your map, completing it, versus throwing in a bunch of teleporters the same way noobs do with fusion coils. I'm going to say no.
Well I believe it matters. For example on my Moustrap map you spawn in an open room where there are teleporters everywhere and slowly fence boxs spawn on top of them and they are your only way out. It is neccessary for there to be a lot of teleporters for that game. I believe that if they are placed correctly and well done there is nothing wrong with it. -Donuts
The thing is some map makers for example instead of making a bridge use teleporters. Which is the lazy way out and ruin the maps feel.
Well that's pretty much the major no-no, even though I never really see it that much because anyone that lazy would rarely make maps, It can be placed for strategic reasons, but otherwise doesn't work. I do not think teleporters ruin maps unless done poorly, but so does every other part of maps, including traffic cone placement. I made a map entirely based on teleporters and it works surprisingly well. It has 3 2-way channels and 2 one way channels, which I suppose isn't too much, but a good amount, none of them are random and the teleporters are all difficult to camp except for two of the 1-way ones. Teleporters are extremely useful for blocking off areas that you don't want people to go as well as letting them get to areas on the map (or out of it) that they couldn't normally get to. In short, if you can get there by mancannon, don't use a teleporter.
