Revolver V2

    Ok so. This is My second map. I learned alot between last map and this one. Interlocking and weapon placement to name a few. Thanks to The guy who originally made revolver on halo PC custom edition. I'd like to give him more credit but he was anonymous. Thanks to Bulletscope too, And all the beta testers.
    This is a small cylindrical/elyptical map. Can be played with Slayer Team slayer or CTF.

    It features pits on either side of the main "courtyard" that contain teleports to the outside of foundry past the death barriers therefore killing you. This was used to duplicate the bottomless pits on either side of the original Revolver.

    The game is extremely fast paced close quarters action. I hope you all like it.

    Ok so thats the match. Just some of the highlights.

    Lemme know what you think. This took the majority of yesterday and a few hours today.

    If you have spare teleporters you could fill the pits with them becuz two sender nodes doesn't really simulate a bottomless pit. If you run out of teleporters, u could use custom powerups that make u slow and weak. Then no one would want to go down there. Another option would be to have the playing area above the ground and the pits would hvae funnels that force people who fell into a teleporter or two.

    There are 4 in each pit. Sorry the screen shot doesn't show that very well. My bad.

    In play tests, has there been any tactical benefit to being in the pit?

    Nope, They get picked off quickly. so you might as well get a suicide than give the other team a kill. :squirrel_jaffa:

    A suggestion for future maps, flip the boxes over. It just makes the level look nicer. :squirrel_wink:

    looks good, not sure if the turret is a good idea, gonna have to play it to make sure.

    Thanks. In my experience the turret was a great addition to the game. It has a nice vantage point.

    Thanks for the compliments on the forging. I think it was a big jump from my last one. :squirrel_rocking:

    Good interlocking and I like the idea and name of the map

    Ps: An idea for the holes (since everyone is Talkin Bout It), make it part of the playing area. so have stairs back up and weapons there or stuff. Just an idea.

    At first I couldn't get anything to look right. Then I started measuring. Counting how many squares this way it was and then trying to find reference points, like skid marks, oil stains and trash piles. Those all combined gave me an idea of where to place what. Hope that helps


    Hmm Maybe, I dunno I really wanted to keep the map true to the original(those pits were huge in that one). I could put 2 way teleports down there on that channel. That will work. That should give me another 2 per hole. Maybe thats enough to fill it.
    They may end up popping out another 2 way thats in the pit but that will throw them into another sender teleport, and then hopefully outside. If that doesn't work I'll make a ramp in there.

    Just did some more work and developed version 2.0. But the file share system is down. Hopefully after school I can get it up tomorrow.

    I changed the pit area instead of having to jump at the powerups, I put a double box for you to walk across cutting the orginal pits on each side into 2 on each. This coupled with 3 teleports per hole, makes the hole a little more instant.

    i played this and it played pretty well. the only problem when i played was spawn placement, the turret raped every time someone would spawn, but i'm sure vertigo fixed it up. as well as the ports in the pit weren't placed too well but that also sounds like its been fixed so i don't have anything else to say other than download this because even with the bugs it was quality, i just need to get my hands on this new version.

    Yeah that turret was hilarious right then at the beginning, Bulletscope just kept hammering you guys. But yeah all the spawn probs are history.
