Map Title: Cryptic When Forerunners were buried, all their lifeforce was stored in a central spire, drawing all sentient life towards it. Description: This is my third map posted on Forgehub. It is known as Cryptic. Cryptic is, in my mind, a representation of a Forerunner Tomb. The Forerunner Skull is somewhere in this tomb, and those who control it will gain its power... Cryptic is somewhat like Warlock from Halo 2, only there are some differences. For example, the teleporters don't take you to the direct opposite of the map, rather it sends you to a random teleporter. Also, the basic shape and layout is different. The map was made with the gametype VERY CLOSE in mind. The Gametype, known as Graverobber, is an "almost-remake" of Halo 2's Dodgeball. Basically, Graverobbers gives players Rockets and Brute Shots, 10m Radars, and the ball carrier is given active camo and is faster. Weapons List: Bubble Sheld, 60 sec respawn Power Drain, 60 sec respawn Active Camo, 60 sec respawn There are NO OTHER WEAPONS on the map, only because it was made for the gametype only. However, you can delete some of the scenery under the central table and put your own weapons on the map. There are also some things out side the map that can be deleted for budget. Pictures: Overview 1. This pic shows the Central Table, with the active camo floating there. The Wall Corners offer good cover for the ball carrier, or people who just need to escape a rocket. Overview 2. Showing the other side of the Central Table. Not much else to say. One of the corner structures. Nice vantage point over the entire map. "Shrine." There is one on the other side as well. The Equipment, being the Bubble Shield and Power Drain, are both in one of these shrines. Not a great hiding spot... This is the Tomb. In other words, this is where the skull is. By the way... The custom powerup inside does nothing. Just for show. You can't see it in the shot, but it's there. Final Thoughts: I'd like to thank my buddy stARGatemastr for helping build the map, and all those who helped me test it out. The map was made in one sitting, and took about 3-5 hours to make. And look out for my next post, being a map pack for BR training. Download Map Download Gametype
center piece looks interesting. It looks though that there is a spark in the map but it is already something i have seen before. I can see this map becoming even better if you put a few more levels toward the middle. I give this map a 3/5. Happy Forging, KG Gods STDs!
looks very well designed. I like the layout a lot, and i'd like to play it when i get the chance I haven't seen any similar maps, so thats good very cool map there. Some of the outside structures are kind of plain, so add to them if you have the budget 7.8/10
Thanks for the advice. There's a bottom floor, but I see what you mean. I think I might add a floating Ring of bridges or something around the top. That is something to look into... thanks again for the advice.
this looks like a great map. it reminds me of warlock with that big thing in the middle. i dislike warlock but that middle part is awesome. 4.5/5
oooooooooh, pretty! it looks very.... interesting... to say the least. well nice job it looks really cool i love the maze and center it is all very unique.
I'm loving the interlocked stairs. They look sweet! Overall, it looks great with some good hiding places.
It does have a Warlock feel to it. It is visually appealing, but I fear may lack play ability. Good effort.
wow this is a really good looking map. i like how you interlocked the stairs facing upwards. very well done.
man this map reminds me soo much of the book ghosts of onyx with all of the weird polygons and whatnot, also a very unique map. ps:i cant wait for your br map i always love to see what different things people do with training maps!
kool map i like the center piece with the stairs pointing up... and how the whole map is built around it... good job with the aesthetics and building the map.
This looks very nice The stairs in the middle and sides are a fantastic example of clever interlocking. i would rate this 4.5/5
