Hello community, in the process of making a One Flag Avalanche map I thought to myself, "Those multi-colored boxes, mixed every which way are quite unappealing". With that in mind I decided that I would try to discover a method to make all boxes the same color or whatever color is desired.

After some tampering I discovered a very good method. [WILL WORK ON ALL MAPS WITH THE MULTI COLORED BOXES]

    Box Color Toggling Method.
(Lets say you want to make a Base on Avalanche indicating Red Team.)

Step 1. Spawn a double or single box

Step 2. Delete and re-spawn the box until it is your desired color.(red)

Step 3. Place the box wherever you need it.

Step 4. Save changes and end game.

When the game restarts you will see that the box you spawned has retained it's color.

If you try to spawn multiple boxes and make all of their colors to the same this technique WILL NOT WORK . When the game has restarted you will see that the box colors are random.

Here is an example of a Structure on Avalanche made completely red.

Yes, the method is tedious but it can make your map much more professional and much better looking.

If for some reason this method does NOT work, don't fret. It works like 97% of the time. Sometimes a box's color will scramble unexpectedly. In which case, re-do the process.

why would you have to save and quit, unless you were trying to make it float. also, no offense, but this idea is kinda obvious. i think most people just don't really care. but i knoiw you were trying to help so thanks i guess

If you don't save and quit after spawning each box, When a new round or game is started, the colors will scramble.

    Thanks rising remains.

I have been looking for this technique, and SPAGETTII is right. I tried to just spawn boxes to be one color WITHOUT the saving/quitting process, it doesn't work. Good job on this, this should be put in Forging 101 or something.

Time consuming but this is better than always having to have the colorblind filter on . :]

This is pretty cool. But I wish there were more items that you could change colors and not just boxes. Like red warthogs and stuff.

Cool I can you this on my new map on Avalanche, I have to save and quit to float the boxes anyways.

    +Rep to you.

I heard about another method, but it seemed too tedious because it involved making the whole map first, and then grabbing the box and it changing color or something like that.

Yeah i think i get what your saying with that. But that method basically would be making a map then deleting it then making it again. lol

Um.... Devinish already posted something like this but it was awhile ago... Great job though! It should help the newer forgers who weren't here when he posted it!

I didn't see that, thank you for telling me. But... I went to his thread though and it isn't the same thing. The product is the same but my version is completely different.

Consider this the newer, easier, updated technique.

Really? I'm sorry I didn't actually read it because I never forge on Avalanche... Okay I will read it then! Great job on finding it out!

Do you actually save-quit it without letting go? Or can you just place the box, let go, and then save and end the game?

Devinish discovered this and showed it to a bunch of us a little while back.. very handy trick. great for making color-coded bases.. although somewhat of a pain to do. +rep for you!

That you already said doesn't work all the time. Devinish's thing works. But like yours, it takes a few tries to get it right.

They both work, but I like his better. Still, good find, and nice work helping out the less experienced Forgers out there.

EDIT: Here's the link to his. Posted over two months ago.

Hey thanks for all your feedback. Furious, I already took a look at Devinish's. This is the difference; In Devinish's version (If i read correctly) the entire map must be made first. Once this has been done you go back and delete and re-spawn the boxes that aren't the correct colors. It's a good method but imagine that you did a lot of geomerging and interlocking. All of that would have to be redone. In my method, prior to making the map, you spawn the box until it has reached its appropriate color. Then you place the box and save and quit. With this method you CAN geomerge and interlock. I appreciate your feedback though and I hope that clears everything up for everyone.
Please express any further questions, thoughts, or concerns.
