Push a Spool Created by DimmestBread Download Push a Spool (Map) Here Download Push a Spool (Gametype) Here THE GAMETYPE MUST BE USED OR THE MAP WON'T WORK AS WELL. Supported Gametypes: Push a Spool: (multi-bomb can work but Push a spool works better.) Players are invulnerable Players do 0% damage Primary weapon is the sword Secondary weapon is the brute shot No grenades at the start 5 rounds 3 minute rounds One bomb arm ends the round *These are the settings to the gametype for anyone who is to lazy to download the gametype or forgets to download the gametype.* Map Description Push a Spool is a unique and original map created on foundry. It is derived from the childhood game Tug of war, but this is the opposite. You spawn in a narrow hallway with a wire spool in the middle. Your starting weapons are sword as the primary and brute shot as the secondary. The hall is just wide and tall enough so the wire spool can move around but you won't be able to get past. Each team gets one gravity hammer which is located at the ends of the wall. Your object is to push the wire spool past a certain point. Once you do this, you will be able to pick up a bomb, which is on the ceiling, and then jump up and it will instanly arm and blow up ending the round. There are 5 rounds, each 3 minutes long. If you use certain tactics, you will come out on top. Try different things until one works well. This map supports 2 - 8 players. Strategies You don't want everyone hitting the wire spool with the sword or everyone shooting it with the brute shot. Mix it up a bit. Because there is limited ammo, conserve it. The gravity hammer helps, but running back and getting it may put your team at a disadvantage. Try to splatter the other team with the wire spool (it is possible). There is a 10 second respawn and it will leave the team at a disadvantage. _________________________________________________ Overview of the map. The sword is a good weapon to hold the wire spool from not moving to far. The brute shot moves the wire spool very far but even further if the other team doesn't expect it. The sword can keep it from moving to far though. The hammer doesn't push the wire spool to far but it will push the player back pretty far. Use it with a combination of the brute shot. This is the way to arm the bomb. Grab it and then jump straight up. _________________________________________________ Thanks to all my testers. They had a lot of fun with this and I hope you do to. Enjoy Also, A member Stin10 and I both thought of this almost same idea but we had no idea either of us thought of it. We have already talked so when he posts his map, don't say that he stole it from me. He has a different scoring system and many other things that mine doesn't use. Thanks.
This is cool, I've never thought of this for a mini-game before. It's like reverse tug of war, so I downloaded.
wow, this actually looks like a really fun game to play with a party/friends. you got my download. goodjob with the map. =]
I for one am glad to see that mini games are not dead. This is a great new mini game and i think it will play quite well. Its a good thing you limited amo or no one would win. 5/5 for creativity.
Thanks you guys. I was really inspired by TNT Pollo by TDF. It made me want to make a mini-game that hasn't been done before.
Excellent minigame! I wish I would have thought of it. Good job! I'm DLing right now. Pushing a spool back and forth... its so simple. Great way to pass time.
this is acomplete rip off of my crouch ball map but not even as good. heres the link if u dont believe me http://www.forgehub.com/forum/casual-maps/15017-crouchball.html dont dl this nonsense 0/5
Well considering I dont know you or have never seen your map, I'm going to say its not a complete rip off. At the look of your screen shots, It is absolutely nothing like yours. You are pushing a soccerball and theres mongooses and other parts to that map. In mine you are pushing a wirespool as well as shooting it. It also seems that you are trying to kill in yours, not arm a bomb.
its the same idea of being in a small area and pushing the center object to get to the goal. anyone saying its original should at least know its been done before.
The idea of moving an object through a hall has been done before by many people. I've done it before in puzzle maps. I don't think its been done exactly like I just made it with the scoring system and everything.
well yomtvraps after looking at both maps I do see similarities, however the objective is totally diferent. Please know that his idea "IS" original before you flame his map
wow the only similarity is a hallway you have a soccer ball he has a spool his is a mini game assault yours is a casual map with many other features thats like saying that using interlocking is a rip off because you didn't discover it. also this is a 5/5
Thats what the different weapons are for. So it doesn't get old to fast. Also, it is very fun when you play 4v4 and you get an overkill splatter. Yes you can splatter people. It isn't to hard.
Very nice idea and well put together. But since it is a small, very basic map, I suggest putting some aesthetics if you have time into it such as powerups or teleporters. But overall, smart idea. 5/5
this looks pretty cool, i'll check it out sometime, but I am out of room on my HD maybe i'll clear some stuff off of it........ 5/5 from me
That was my idea also. But that kind of stuff makes the wire spool get stuck and it won't be able to move through and I can't make the tunnel any bigger or you could get around the wire spool. I did make "Created By DimmestBread" out of weapons out of the map though. To the person above me. Hope you find the space. This is a fun map.
