If only the link hadn't been broken... xD I doubt very many people saw it though, which sucks. But it's the thought that counts, right?
This is a very detailed guide and will be very useful in some of my upcoming maps, well done on creating this guide
This is great debo! now I know. This was what kept me back from making a competitive map. No jk what held me back was map geomotry. Wanna make a guide for that too? pretty please? Anyways thanks for making this. +rep for you and your delicious guide.
how do you feel on the subject of 1 v. 1 maps? Following your algorithm that'll be a no-nade map D: and also as far as the traffic rules for spawn times, wouldnt they vary depending on the effectiveness of said grenade in area?
For a 1v1 map it really depends, but I would say 3 grenades is your absolute max and that each should have a respawn time of at least 30 seconds. You'd probably be best off going with two placed grenades in a 1v1 map if it's of a small enough size to be designed for 1v1. Remember that your grenade count is based off of the maximum comfortable player number; most 1v1 maps often fit up to 4 players comfortably (excepting the ones from the FH 1v1 tournament way back when). As for effectiveness influencing spawn times, I believe I mentioned in the OP that you should kick it up one notch from its traffic-figured spawn time if it's placed in an area in which it's immediately useful. Thanks for reading this guide! XD
