I've been working on a small, arena-like map for the past few days, not constantly, if that was the case, I'd be done. Anyway, I'd just like some opinions on how it is turning out so far, based on Forging, Design, Aesthetics, ETC. I've uploaded a video on GameVee, which I will link to now, it goes around the map, really it just shows the whole thing, no voice, no text. Here's the link: Link To The Video It's not the best quality, but it's not horrible or anything. (The video)
Looks very similar to uhh.. Damn... can't remember the map. It was originally in Halo 1, and Bungie remade it along with a remake of Hang Em High for Halo 2 in the final months before Halo 3 came out. This map looks like that one, except there are no stairs going to the second level, or teleporters. (There were teleporters in Halo 1, and gravity lifts in Halo 2, but both had two sets of stares as well I believe.) Either way, looks fun, simply because I liked that map that Bungie remade.
I'm not sure if Pavidus is thinking what I'm thinking but it sure reminds me of Wizard (Halo : CE) and Warlock (Halo 2) at least I think that's what their called. I know you're not done but before you release make sure that you heighten those walls because right now those are a serious escape hazard
Derelict is what you are thinking of. I sort of see a similarity. Anyways, I can't wait for this map to be released it looks like it would play very nicely. Some nice fast paced arena action for once. Sort of Halo 1/Unreal style. Which is great considering all of the larger arena maps being made. Not that I'm against larger arena maps, it just slows the pace of the game. Now hurry up and finish the map so I can play it. =]
yeah this looks really good. It reminds me alot of derelict because of the middle structure and the rockets underneath. It also has some features that its remake had, Desolation. The similarities are the overshields and the grav lift. But either way it looks really good. Cant wait for it.
Why put the grav lifts under the doors, unless a gametype lowers gravity, you could easily make the jump. And you are making the walls higher right?
Sadly, I won't be able to heighten the walls to make it foolproof. I will be able to make it so you can't use the grav-lifts to get out however. And, why would you want to jump off of a door to get up when you can walk onto it and float up? As a response to whoever asked about the grav-lift being under a door.
Looks really good, I don't know how it would do in a Team BR's game, but it seems really good for FFA...As soon as your done, I'll make sure to download this!
