in foundry sandbox Double box , single box, open variants, bridges, walls, etc. can also float without a teleporter.
hey i found you can float objects (in foundry atleast). first spawn a double or single box, its important that you dont manipulate it at all (judging by my experiences). next you put the object you want to float on top of it (with most objects u can manipulate them) lets use a bridge as an example. when you place the bridge on top of the box just delete the box. this strat also works with stairs, walls, weapons(includin turrets), and even boxes hope this helps. and can some one plz try this strategy on other maps and get back to me on if it works or not
gah, so true! but seriously, this is great for the community, hopefully this info can inspire someone
I have practiced this technique plenty of times, but still have yet to perfect it and align the objects where I need them. I hope to have better ways of improving this, I have so many ideas floating around in my head.
Use other objects as guides or scaffolding. What I mean is if you're having a difficult time getting a wall to be straight, use the side of a double box to push the wall against. This way you know it will be straight up and down, and then you can use more double boxes to line up other walls. Hope this helps. --dc
I'll have to try this. I'm still using the stack technique. It's old school, and it takes a while, but it gets the job done.
This technique works without having to end the game if you "Save as new map" rather than "save changes". Although you'd be loading up on worthless map files, it saves the time of having to end the game and start it up again right after. But then you'd have to delete the worthless files afterwards. So it's really not that much of a breakthrough.
just posting this from my other thread.its a brand new floating glitch! this is a glitch that does not require you to start a new round or anything. how to do it: go into moniter mode, and than press up on the d pad and x at the same time.if done right you should be in player mode with the item menu open select what object you want to float(i prefer the immovable objects).the object will fall and you will not be holding it but the spawn point will be in mid air than you set it to instant respawn (not required but makes it go alot faster). if you want make a floating interlocked platform put its respawn time to 180 instead of instant respawn and repeat the glitch until satisfied.i have found than the platforms work best with bridges.with boxes one box is placed correctly and the rest are too high. it can also be used to bypass elastic barriers,NOT death barriers, which can be helpful when trying to escape the level with a camera. unfortunately though, you can not place the objects at an angle so they are placed at the same angle as when they spawned. i recommend doing it at floor level so you dont have to worry about it being level.they still spawn in the air and pretty high too. i hoped this helped you.comments are apprieciated.
i know your trying to explain it the best you can, but most people dont understand a word you said. the people want picturs.
I have found a very useful method which involves new rounds. If you want to spawn a floating object, go to the object selector, BUT DO NOT SPAWN IT YET!! Press the Start new round button in the start menu, then as the round fades away, you spawn the item. You have to place it where you want it fast however and do not let it go. Next round, the object should be floating in the place where you left it.
Wow... well this is awesome for use in Foundry or any map with large objects you can float, but in the original maps, does anyone else have a problem with running out of teleporters? Maybe I'm not understanding this correctly, but while this method will allow you to float more precisely, you still require a teleporter/turret/weapon holeder or whatever for each object... Is there any way around this?
