Covenant Death Scooter The Covenant Death Scooter (CDS), commonly known as the Ghost, is the enemy's most effective anti-infantry vehicle. Download this simulation and learn how to fight against a CDS in enemy hands. Download now, and begin your training immediately! Map Overview I love the Ghost. So much, in fact, that I've given it a pet name. The Covenant Death Scooter. I've noticed that it doesn't show up a lot in Foundry, so I wanted to make a map centered around it. This is a small, open map designed for small Slayer games of 2-5 people, with a major focus on the Ghost. Gameplay Obviously this map was built so you'd have an advantage if you have control of a Ghost. But there are several features in place to keep things balanced and fun. There are two Ghosts on the map, along with several anti-vehicle weapons and equipment. This map is the most fun when one player or team has control of a Ghost and the opposing side does not. Weapons and Equipment 4 Battle Rifles for killing pedestrians, and everyone else 1 Brute Shot, 1 spare clip, for flipping the Ghost 1 Plasma Pistol for stopping the Ghost dead 2 sets of dual SMGs, for general bullet spraying 1 Bubble Shield 2 Deployable Covers 1 Power Drain 3 Firebomb grenades, and several other assorted grenades You should note that the Deployable Cover will hold off the Ghost's plasma shots for a few seconds, but it will not hold off a charging Ghost. Also, the Power Drain spawns 60 seconds into the match, to make sure players get to drive the Ghosts a while before you disable them. Overview Pic #2 Overview Pic #3 The Spider Hole A great place to cower from the CDS. A plasma grenade spawns down there on a 20 second timer. Also, slots on the sides allow enemies to chuck nades down on you, so don't plan on camping there the whole time. Stuck! He jumped up, stuck me, and was safe inside again before I 'sploded. Revenge! This time I was ready for him and splattered him on his way out of the hole. Saved! If you don't go fast enough, the CDS will bounce off the shield door, and over your enemy. Thanks shield door! Two Can Play This Game! Someone's about to get stuck! Thanks for reading and I hope you all enjoy the map. I'd like to hear what you think of it, or if there are any other Ghost enthusiasts out there. Go Covenant Death Scooter! New Screenshots on page 2 of this thread. Click here to go there now. Wow. CDS lol. I love what you did with that. This map looks original, and I like the general idea.. Your maps are awesome... Try guilder.. mod just isn't enough...
Thanks Orange. Getting a map featured would be nice, but I'm not sure if I want to be a Guilder. I totally forgot to mention, TrueDarkFusion inspired this map with a post he made. I thought about it and realized that he was right, so I set out to make a vehicle map on Foundry. Only one vehicle came to mind, the CDS!
love the subtle interlocking. The premise is good and the map is clean....maybe a little too clean. The map is a little empty in my eyes, but maybe that\'s for the best.
LOL, i looked at this because i thought it said Covenant Death Soccer! I'm glad i did though because this looks very good. I've always been a fan of the ghost as well, so seeing it featured as a map's power weapon is great! Definitely getting a download from me. *edit* i DL'd it but it still says you have zero downloads... weird
I honestly looked at this because you posted it Furious, but I was intrigued by the way you said simulation, I've always thought the only way that Halo multiplayer would make any sense in terms of the campaign world is if you thought of it as a set of training simulations for spartans. This map has really caught my eye and I would like to try it out.
Yeah, if there is too much cover then it weakens the Ghost. I haven't tried this with more than just 2 people, so more cover might be good for larger free-for-all games. The download counter goes up when it actually gets downloaded, not when it's queued. So several people can say they have downloaded it but it won't start showing up until they turn on their 360's.
Great idea. Love the ghost and it looks like I'll love this map. Can't wait to scalp someone trying to get into the spider hole. Good, power drain when driving = Angerrrrr. There should be some sound effect for when this happens or when you get hit with the plasma pistol (like the Debbie Downer thing).
Wanh wanh wannnnnhhhhhhh. Lol. Yeah, also you should know that the Power Drain takes a second to kick in after you drop it, like the bubble shield. This one guy threw it at me in my CDS and I boosted right past it before it activated and I splattered him.
You may indeed. I set the floor (walls) not to spawn at start so that they'd be out of the way. Then, I floated a bridge where the walls would normally be, but just a tad lower. Then I placed a few bridges (the ones in the pictures) so that they'd interlock with the walls. This creates a smooth transition from the walls to the bridges and back. There is minimal "hopping" when you cross over. It's a real time investment, but I am committed to quality. It's also why I'm so hard on the maps posted by the community. I hold myself to a high standard, and expect the same from others. No map is perfect, including this one. If I were to honestly review this map, I'd agree with you that there is not a lot of cover. The map looks pretty bare. There's enough space and budget left over to add some more to this map. I haven't played a lot of games here, but the ones I have played were pretty fun. However, there isn't really a lot of variety in this map, so it might get old after a while. Anyway, those are my honest thoughts on my own map. Good, original, but lacking in variety. What are everyone else's thoughts?
As always your map is almost impeccable Furious . It certainly is original but my concern is, how long will it still be fun? Seeing as there's not much going on besides the "ghosting" I'm afraid it won't hold my attention for too long.
When i get the chance ill download this map because i have loved the ghost sense the first halo, and the name covenant death scooter caught my eye, im glad it did because i lve the cocept and the theme so keep up the good work and rock on!!!!! :squirrel_rocking:
Covenant Death Scooter FTW! The name is catching on, sweet! I just played another game of this with some friends, and it was fun. Three player free-for-all. I did notice that this map is pretty bland if no one is in a ghost. Luckily, there are two of them and so it was rarely an issue. It's hard to play this map with more than two sides, cause just when you think you have the upper hand in a fight, the stupid third person messes everything up. I can't wait to play a Team Doubles here. Here's some cool screenshots from the game: I'll take that! His body isn't even done burning and I'm already taking the Covenant Death Scooter. Disabled! Wha? Who put a plasma pistol in this map? You totally ruined my sweet ride! Apparently even when you miss with the plasma pistol it can disable a Covenant Death Scooter.
You really latched onto the interlocking object glitch like none other, Furious. Would you consider yourself an early pioneer of the technique? Maby months from now (that's a long time in ForgeTime) you'll be like the Davey Crockett of making objects invade each other's personal space.
Not really, I just wanted to show people how many options this technique can offer. Really it's up to your imagination what you can create. To think I just learned this technique three weeks ago. Thanks Forging 101!
