I usually play Halo with 1 or 2 friends at a time, I was tired of looking all over the "Small" maps that shipped with Halo, some were still just to big and slow for a one on one. So I got the idea to make a really small one, I thought it'd be cool and new to use the rooms from Rat's Nest. So I picked one, the red one, Sorry blues, and closed it off and set out to make it balanced.

    Designed for 2 - 4 players.

There aren't very many weapons on the map, and they have very little ammo. Grenades play a big role in this game, bubble shields and regenerators can save your ass in tight situations. And a lone flamethrower sits in the very center of the map. Each player spawns near a battle rifle and a pile of grenades. There are also 4 "Power Weapons" on the map, An assualt rifle, a sniper, a mauler, and a brute shot, all with limited ammo. There is also a room that is inaccessible, just there for looks, but everyone seems to want to try to get in it...

I've gotten good results on this map, some of my lower level friends actually competed with me. Which they usually don't, I usually win by a land slide, but in one match, I only won by 4 points to my friend who is a level 13.

There is a gametype to go along with this map also. Which is available in in my file shar. It's slot number 2.
    Bungie.net : Bungie Online : Halo 3 File Share

    The gametype is as follows.
    - No radars
    - Movement has been slowed to 90% due to the small size of the map
    - Shield Regeneration has been raised to 110%
    - Everyone starts with SMGs only
    - 3 Second respond time
    - 3 Second suicide penalty
    - 7 Minute game time

That's pretty much all I changed on the gametype.

Re: Shock Attack - Super Small Map on rats nest!

Ok fragydig, we do things a bit differently than on the Bungie forums. First, it's pretty much expected that you embed screenshots into the post so that people can scan them quickly without having to click on each one.

Second, keep the thread name the same as the map name. This makes it easy to scan the forums, and keeps it fair. I'll go ahead and edit it, just keep it in mind in the future.

If you don't know how to embed screenshots or anything, click the link in my sig.

I never thought about that as well.

I would have to say fragydig529 that you do have a wonderful description fo the map. Really helps me get the feel of it. I need a visual as well however. Pictures sell your map to others. It is the main item for a map post.

I was thinking of closing off the whole inside of the map from the road area and balancing that out, but this works.

Lol, I have my moments. I got tired of tracking down the link every time I needed to direct someone there.

Fragydig, nice screenshots. I downloaded it and checked it out in Forge and it is small! I mean, I love small maps, but his might be too small. Did you consider opening it up to include the other room on red side?

By the way, the first thing I did was try to get in that room. It looks so pretty in there. Also the blue lights of the mancannons attracted me, like a monkey to a shiny object.

Haha, Actually I thought about leaving the sheild door and mancannons out, and take all those weapons out of that room and putting a tele in it that went to the blue room that is the same as that one, and have all covy weapons in it. But I just like the fast paced.

I haven't played it with 4 players yet, but I have played with 3, and 2, and both were really fast.
