Mongoose Arena! In this map and gametype, teams of two drive around on mongooses (mongeese?) and throw stickies and try to no scope each other (Its easier than you might think.) I know it sounds simple, but I promise you this gametype will give you some truly great halo moments that you will remember for quite some time. Plus there are tons of variations you can make to the gametype that have their own unique feel and playstyle. I KNOW WHAT YOUR THINKING! This is just another honor rule game that's going suck because people will just run around on foot and cheat. I'm pleased to say that you're wrong! I've figured out away so that you won't get points if you kill while not being driven by a team mate. You actually are penalized -5 points. I'll explain that in the rules section. Make sure you read them. Map Pictures Map LayoutThis is actually my second version of the map so I had some fresh ideas on how to possibly enhance the game. The map is pretty much a box, but I did some clever stuff with it. The biggest problem with the first map was people would die before they got on a mongoose. I solved this problem by making designated spawn areas that are elevated in corners and have cleverly placed shield doors so you will neither be spawn killed or be able to camp up there. Unfortunatly after playing for a little while you may spawn in a corner without a mongoose, so you and your teamate will have to make a mad dash to another corner. Sucker. You'll spawn on two stickies so you'll have a slight advantage over the team who just killed you. There's a catwalk that will give you a nice vantage point over the map plus a brute shot spawns up there one time in the game so you can flip people over and than poop on them with your sniper. There are some fusion coils on one side of the map for some funny kills. That's about it. Rules Must Read trust meOkay so if you kill without a driver you WILL get minus five points. But if your teamate is driving you will get 1 point. I did this by modifying the scoring: KILL=-5 points ASSIST=6 points Examples:So if you're riding the mongoose and you snipe someone you get -5 points but your teamate will get 6 points so as a whole you're team gets 1 point. If you're riding on an enemy's goose and you kill someone you'll get -5 and he'll get 6 points. If you're riding on the back by yourself and kill, you'll just get-5. Also HEADSHOTS will give you one bonus point Okay, so if you really wanted to you could cheat. You and your teamate could get up on the catwalk and you shoot someone and than your partner shoots him. tadaah cheating. But that's harder than it sounds and it ends up being easier just riding around on the goose, and it's a lot more FUN! Variations I like Try them1. Secondary Plasma Pistols 2. Secondary Brutshot ( you can shoot the ground to launch your self, then switch to sniper for halogasm) 3. Headshots only! (no shields turn up damage resistance) 4. Regenerating grenades (My favorite) 5. Spartan Lasers with damage Resistance 6. Frags and Brs 7.Invisibility! its kinda funny, whatever 8. You probably don't know this yet, but here at Forge Hub, there are rules for posting. You can find them here. And to upload pics, which can be confusing, here's a tutorial: First, go to Bungie.net to your page. Find the Screenshot Viewer, and double click the screenshot which you choose to upload. When you do this, an option should pop up asking you what you want to do with the file. Your screen should look like this: Click Save to Desktop, or wherever you would like to save it to. Next, go to a site like Image hosting, free photo sharing & video sharing at Photobucket to host your image. If you do not have an account, create one. When you have your account made, go to your photo album. There is a blue bar that says "Choose files" that should look like this: Click that blue bar, where the red arrow points to(arrow added for dramatic effect). Upload from wherever you saved the file. Now, after the file has uploaded, scroll down the page to your picture's thumbnail. There is a list of options, like this: Copy the highlighted link, or direct link where the arrow is. And yes, that is Chris Hanson Last step is coming back to here, where you enter the final direct link into the code( [ img]link[ /img] ) without the spaces. Hopefully, that helps you out. Any questions, PM me
this map SOUNDS really cool so i'll go the extra mile and view the screens via bungie but if you want to get a lot of dl's you'll have to embed and if you need more help on embedding PM me
everyone needs to stop telling taymaster to fix his pics, im pretty sure hes read all 5 of ur posts by now, so stop telling him too, im sure hes working on it
I can't believe all of you guys advised me so quickly. This seems to be a great community. I think i fixed the pictures so thanks for the help, especially norlinsky.
nice map.. i like the fact abaut the honor rule i went on whit gt and i pu rocket whit resistens and grenade and invissebilety... i had a lolgasm when my teammate went of and started pbagging the gouse isted of ddriving.. i was even funier becos he got shot whit rockets and we where nearby theese fusion coils.. u can guess the rest.. but from tht point he stuck to the rules, like a rubberpen sticks to a bottle EDIT: sorry for crabby spelling but i am in a rush
this map looks really great, but u always need an even # of people greater than 2, and I think u should make it bigger but other than that it looks great note: cant both people just get off the mongoose and shoot one guy to lower the sheild and his teammate shoot the same guy?
