Quite simple fettmaster5: 1st: Click "User CP" at the top bar on any page. Once you have done that, click "Edit Avatar" located here: Make sure you have an image selected that is at a maximum of 100x100. You simply upload it to a third party image hosting website, such as Image hosting, free photo sharing & video sharing at Photobucket or ImageShack.com - Your Photo and Imaging Portal [imageshack.com] or even TinyPic - Free Image Hosting, Photo Sharing & Video Hosting I personally suggest photobucket, as it has been quite user friendly. You can either do that, or upload it straight from your computer.

Check out this thread it should answer your question. To put it short, it depends your post count. So after a certain amount of posts you increase a bar and keep doing so until it becomes full, at that point you get a new rank.
