I posted this in the other topic but have recieved no help. So i have this map which ive been workin on here and there for about 2 weeks, my budget is at 0, I have interlocking objects all over the place. Ive used just about all the items and i believe their run time maximums are already at max because ive used them all (double boxes, walls, and corner walls for example). However my map is not done, there are no weapons...or details just the structure. I thought all was lost until i saw this topic...and now I still can not figure it out/get it to work. Can some one please give me step by step instructions for placing more items...For example I would like to place 2 plasma swords and some short barriers. But how? Thank you so much to whom ever can solve my dilema!!!
You kind of have to do the glitch before you make the map... There is a premade map with the glitch enabled stickied on the forge discussion page. -Donuts
We apologize for not replying sooner James... and donuts put it simply. If your map is already built you cannot enable the glitch. It has to be done before making the map.
^ thanks, i think ill be able to do this without loosing too much time... "Well if your budget is at 0, then you'll need to delete a few things. Free up enough budget to place 1 of every item you need to use (and still have a bit of a surplus ~$20 for example). Then you need to set the runtime maximum of everything you're using to the highest possible. Each time, increase the runtime max of as many as you can, then save, then quit. When you start again, you will have your runtime max money back to do it again. Over and over until you get everything's runtime max as high as they go. When you're done, you can begin placing your objects again. You'll notice that the first item you place takes your entire surplus, but this doesn't matter, because placing the remaining items doesn't cost you anything, because the runtime max is already set for those items. Just know that if you delete anything, it's runtime max is decremented, and thus that item is gone for good. The best way to remove something is to just move it off to the side so it can still be used later. When you are done, save a copy with everything still off to the side, so you can make any changes you want later, then remove the extra stuff and save your playable version."
OR you could do that... lolz. I haven't tried the glitch. But I think I'll need it for Asper, Betawaffle, and my map. It is extremely unique, and not done before. And make sure that knowing the map doesn't help you at all. It is all about the skills that you have, not the knowledge of the map. Just wait till you see what we mean.
AZN Im not sure what you mean by skills, but im willing to give this a go until it works because ive already put too much time into this map to redo it. I already have so many interlocking objects it would be such a headache to do.
It does work, good sir. Just like the Beav said. I've just done this on a map I'm getting ready to publish. It is a total pain in the ass, though. Sometimes the map will give you the "Cannot place object. Too many on map." error, but just save and quit and come back to it later. It's very time-consuming but it is worth it in the end. Good luck!
