Ever think the board game was too slow because it was turn-based? Now you can conquer the classic board without waiting!

    The Game:

3 rounds, your team wins by capturing all of the continents. Shotguns only. 200% gravity keeps players from jumping across continents.

I wanted to keep the classic feel of RISK. That’s why this game should ideally be played with 3-5 teams of three or more people each. Yes, the territories take 5 seconds to capture . . . but there is a twist. In the real RISK boardgame, you always run the risk of being eliminated. If all of your team members are killed before you can capture a continent, you are out of the round for 45 seconds, so be tactical (think of the 45 seconds as the beginning of your turn in the boardgame). However, upon each capture of a territory, all of your allies are instantaneously respawned (think ‘troop reinforcements’ for taking over a continent).

    The Map:

Bridges connect the continents. Each continent has a floor pattern that makes it distinct from the others (i.e. South America is made out of walls, Australia is made out of cages) Europe is separated from Asia using shield doors. Each territory hosts an item for the capturing team’s benefit. I left out all offensive items because I did not want any sort of ranged combat. RISK is all about having to walk into someone else’s territory. Teleports connect Alaska to Asia.

If you fall off the map, it was due to your own mistake. Teleporters on ground level bring you outside to kill you. Don’t try to be sly and shoot from below if you fall off. If you don’t go through the teleporter, you won’t respawn on top of the map again when a teammate captures a territory.

I definitely see the resemblence between this map and the actual board game. Good job and good idea

Actually, this sounds like a really cool idea! Props for making something so simple that sounds so fun. Perhaps you could do some type of kill area wizardry around the continents using grav lifts/man cannons and fusion coils. You just know people will find ways to abuse the ground.

Its pretty hard to abuse the ground when you can't jump to get a good shot. These are close-range shotguns, I think it would be pretty boring trying to kill someone from below when I could just spawn on top again if I let myself die.

Looks like a fun game. Maybe have a Game Type to go with it (evern though you stated what has to be changed) because I sometimes forget what I have to change. 4/5 and a DL.

I'm not sure I understand? It comes with a gametype and nothing needs to be changed as far as I know . . .

Well, I'll admit I'm not the most aesthetic map maker. But thats just my personality. I always prefer gameplay to looks, and I've already had a lot of fun on this map with people. The main point is I wanted it to FEEL like Risk. I hope you get this feeling while you play it.

If anyone wants to make this more aesthetically pleasing, by all means do it! You don't need to give any credit to me if you choose to do so, so long as I can play the game and have fun! Haha. Let me know if you remake it so I can DL. Until then, have fun with this!

ya its not the most accurate map to the globe, but then again, foundry isnt the right size for making the risk map anyways, so u did a good job making it work. i just tried this and the gameplay is awesome! a DL and keeping it for a long while.

A simple idea but also a very creative and playable one. Good job :)

Only critisism is that I think having to die if you fall off is a bit stupid, but I can't see any fixes, and it is the best way.

Hey I'm making a quick update where respawn is set to 45 seconds. This will make it so teams actually have to conquer the globe so the game won't end if all other teams are dead at a point. People can still be instantly respawned by capturing a territory, though, so don't worry!

Think of the 45 seconds as the beginning of your turn, where you get initial troops, and capturing a continent gives you extras!

i give this 5 stars, i just have one minor improvement. mayybe build the map up 2 stories instead of 1, so you don't even need to bring up the whole 'shooting from below' issue? it also might look cooler like that.

That sounds like a good idea. Anyone feel like making version 3.0 with me? Its hard to make continents that look like the actual Risk board with only square objects to work with, but with proper interlocking it can probably be done. Let me know, till then, have fun!

me and Murdock sampson played this the other day,
nice job with the countries, it would be epic if you interlocked them all the way to the ground so it was just like a small platform that showed the countries
