This might just be me, but lately I haven't been playing as much Halo 3 as I want to. I've been playing CoD4 online, and Assassin's Creed. I've also got Ace Combat 6 and Rock Band and want to play those, but I don't. Then I think of Halo 3 and how I'm not playing it as much as I used to. I mean I still like playing it, but unlike Halo 2 it doesn't seem to grasp me as much. I don't get it. Maybe with the new maps it will be better. You know now that I think of it, it really is the matchmaking that draws me away from Halo 3. Lets admit it, matchmaking on Halo 3 can be pretty bad. And I know social games are meant for fun, but they still seem over competative. Plus I like how Call of Duty 4 isn't based on power weapons. I really wish that the maps were more like Call of Duty 4. With more hiding spots and stuff. Anyone else seem to feel this?
My problem is that not as many people are online as they used to. People do have games like COD4 and others when on H2 and the regular XBOX had no real multiplayer competition.
The coming year will pull me away. The new Starwars game+2 Tom Clancy Games+Lego Indiana Jones (maybe)= Awesome.
I try not to favor certain games over others. I like different games for different reasons, but I have to say, Cod4 is designed in the crappiest way ever, yet still terribly addicting. I think your losing intrest in halo because its not that different then the other halo's, but when people buy it they expect it to be beyond amazing.
I still think Halo 3 is really good. The customizable features and possibilities are endless. Matchmaking is crap, but everything else is pretty sweet.
The main problem I have with Halo 3 are that most of the maps are not as playable as the ones in a lot of other games, and matchmaking you only ever get to play 10 except on a really limited playlist with a number of players that creates massive havoc on one of them. I only really like four or five of the maps and most of them only on specific gametypes. The problem I have is that a lot of people on my friends list have already migrated over to other games which now consume most of their playtime and the remainder of my Halo 3 friends seem to more and more (perhaps its just my cynicism) favour the Infection gametypes with no shields zombies that move far too quickly, which sort of damages the custom game experience for me. And that sums up why I joined this community.
Well as it was said before halo3 is halo 2 but pumped up. And like you said i find that i wont to play halo 3 but then i see Cod 4 their and well sorry halo. Its just that every one just need a break something fresh. and with all this game xbox has released it hard to stay faithful. I mean i dare not by Mass Effect . I found that once i let my self just a new game i would wont to come crawling back to halo. Don't worry its just a faze. Halo will be their waiting for you when you come back.
Damn it! Why do companies have to make good games! I liked the days where a good game was rare, so everyone played it for months. Well, here is another problem, my friends I actually know personally play CoD4, so I try to play with them.
that makes sense. playing with friends, no matter how bad the game may be (lol), is much funner than by yourself in general
this exact problem happened to me and CoD4, and halo 2, but now I play halo 3 a lot, because I am part od FH
Lol dude said it perfectly. You may play other games, but you'll keep coming back to ur true love, Halo. Even with its flaws, Halo has more lasting power in the market than any other game right now. Theres no way COD will be able to keep up with the DLC and updates bungie is known for. In 2 years, H3 will still be here, kicking ass. Hell, maybe they will fix MM by then!
Halo 3, The Orange Box, COD4, Mass Effect, Rock Band.... Come on! I have 2 hands and 1 xbox! I don't even own COD4, but I played in the beta. And when I do play Halo 3, (It's never matchmaking, I really don't do matchmaking) it's usually not forging, it's custom games I get pulled into by friends.
