i saw a topic like this on bungie.net and was rather surprised at the embarisingly large (like 22 pages worth) number of people that had no idea how to do this.
Hopefully, we FH members have already gotten our Flying Elephant, Fusion Coil tower 'splosion fix for the rest of our playing time with Halo 3! It was fun while it lasted, but it has very little, if any, real application when building a legit map.
This trick does have numerous applications... weapon selection, pallet replacement, grav boundaries, etc.... there are alot of applications for legit maps... you just have to get creative.
k so i have this problem with this. i had the instant respawns for machine gun turrets but i later wanted to change it so i put the run time minimum back at its old settings i think its 0. That did not fix it because the turrets still respawn instantly even though my run times are not the same. I think it stays that way if you do it once anyone know how to fix this because i dont want to recreate the whole map on a new file.
It shouldn't happen like that. It might have been laggy when you saved the map. Cuz there are times when you change an attribute and it just reverts back to its old traits because of lag. Try changing the settings on the turrets again. Hopefully that works. If not, then I will take a look at it personally.
Yes, this is due to lag. However, when you change an attribute and confirm it by hitting A again, it will look like it reverted back. My experience is that if you change something and it doesn't appear to accept your changes, just give it some time. Come back to that object after editing other things on your map. More often than not, when I come back to that stubborn object, it will be changed to what I wanted. Its the same thing with team color changing in the lobby. If you just give the game a few more seconds, the change in color will occur. There is no need to keep trying to force the game to change it by doing it over and over again. --dumb cat
Actually, I was just talking about fusion coils set to instant respawn. Instant respawn definitely has applications with many other objects, but when used with fusion coils, it just lags the whole game. That's all I meant, fusion coils only.
Hopefully no one else's xbox has acted funny once you started exploring the limits of what you could do in forge. Mine froze a couple times, but I hope it was just coincidence... --dc
i'm new to the forging thing and i know this is probably a really stupid question but how do you keep from spawning outside the map you have just created when you only want to play inside a certin area
