I completely forgot about this gametype! This was a lot of fun in Halo 2, It wouldnt be hard to bring back as long as people follow the honor rules.
I read the posts and this is how you're going to need to make it (or I could make it for you ;D): 1.Place the two ghosts at the one base where you want them to start. 2.Change Gametype to CTF 3.Place a starting point next to each ghost, facing the ghost, with a spawn point right behind them 4.Set the spawn and start points to team "defenders" 5.Set the ghosts to respawn in 180 seconds and not respawn at start 6.Memorize where the location of the ghosts are, in reference to the spawn points and blue ghost spawns 7.Change gametype to "All Gametypes" 8.Quickly switch to edit mode and setup a barrier where the gun on one of the ghosts is supposed to spawn (you'll have to hold it in midair) 9.Set the barrier to not respawn at start and respawn in 180 seconds 10.Save the game and end it 11.Restart the game 12.Switch to CTF and go setup the stuff for the other base, while you wait for the ghost to spawn 13.Once it spawns, change the spawn times to 10 and set them to respawn at start and put their minimum to the same as their maximum 14.Repeat the technique to get the other ghost setup 15.In mode settings, set every to do no damage and have no shields 16.Set player speed to minimum for the "tremors" 17.Slightly increase non tremor speed for the non "tremors" so they have a chance
You don't get it? Well, okay, then if you don't mine I'll make it and then post a link here when it's done.
I agree. That is possible in addition to being practical and very much with in reason. It would not make any sense to NOT do this. Also, considering the changes to the plasma pistol, it would be inadvisable to put them as default weapons or even have them on the map. On thing that would solve the problem of going through all the trouble to block the Ghost's weapons from firing(what this post is about) is to do what Wakko suggested here. Or, if it came to warthogs, just negate the damage that the team/players are doing. I enjoy the fact that some people are bringing the great game of Tremors back from the woodwork. Speaking of Halo 2 custom games, and the fact that Bungie even said that Halo 3 games are occurring at a much faster rate than its predecessor, the reason for this much faster rate is because people are trying to get their rank up significantly faster, campaign is linked to Xbox Live(meaning if all goes bad one can just switch instantly to a game with comrades), and most significantly, the lack of the ability to fully explore the maps in the game(NO GLITCHING! THANK YOU VERY MUCH BUNGIE! NOOOOOOOOOOT!!!). Glitching was one of the coolest things in Halo 2, the real reason it lasted so long. In it, people made lasting friends that would last for years or even lifetimes. I, for one, have experienced this first hand. I have friends that I have gotten to know the first time around in a lengthy glitches game and have been friends with for over one year! In Halo 3, I might make a friend after playing a few matchmade games and usually having a great time and teamwork. After that, I usually never hear from them again. This happens even though I invite them and join their party and so on. It is a crying shame. Since Bungie worked so hard and long to eliminate "glitches," they have such resulted in the lack of our ability to make long lasting friends.
We have successfully worked out a tremors variant without the use of the honor system. Look for it somewhere between Sunday and Tuesday.
Well I already figured out a way to do it with completely no honor rules, multiple rounds where it switchs who is the tremors, and no ghost fire at all (even though it wouldn't do damage. Since you said it was impossible, I think it's only fair I get to make mine too.
I'd like to tell you that it has to be CTF if you were thinking otherwise. Just pointing that out as you can't switch who the tremor is unless it's a 2v2 on CTF.
