For those of you who live in cave, Brett Favre is a legendary quaterback who plays for the Green Bay Packers. Favre holds many NFL passing records, including most career touchdowns, most career passing yards, and most consecutive starts. This past season, he retired after losing the NFC championship game. All summer long, the Packers have been working in the new quaterback, Aaron Rodgers. Favre's retirement influenced alot about the packers off-season. Now, Favre says, "Nevermind, I want to play again." And he expects the packers to take him back with open arms. The Packers, however, have been spending all summer training Aaron Rodgers to work with the packer's system. The packers say, "we'll take you back, but you play second string." Now Favre is all over the news, crying about how the packers won't grant him a release from contract and how Green Bay doesn't make him feel welcome. Now, It is a major thing when you loose your quaterback. Brett Favre's retirement affected Green Bays draft, training camp, and budget.

I have been a lifelong packer-backer, but I think Brett Favre is a **** for expecting his spot back. I think he will end up looking an ass, and it is a shitty way to end a career.

    Thoughts?

Brett Favre does what he wants. they didnt say he would be second string, they said it would be an open competition for QB. Brett's still better than Rodgers, and will probably start either way. He had one of his best years ever last year, in case ya forgot. Either way, you dont say no to Brett Favre. Packers are making a terrible mistake that will be a stain on the organization for a long time.

oh yeh, and you forgot most career wins.

Oh jesus, Favre only left because the GM made it sound like a good idea. Favre deserves a chance else where if he does not feel welcome at that organization.

It is a really asshole thing to do for Favre to expect the packers will take him even after Working Aaron Rodgers in for the whole summer

Brett Favre is probably my favorite quaterback of all time, but his decision to return seems pretty shitty to do to a guy that they've been training the hell out of to be a starter. Of course Farve will start if he does return, the "competition" thing is laughable. He's money in the bank for that team, and they would lose fan revenue if he didn't play the majority of the time. He should stay retired. Marino did it, and he went out with his worst career game as his final one.
