FF XIII is no longer PS3 exclusive!! At last, Microsoft is blessed with Square Enix's wonderful creations. E3 is a wonderful thing, I'm watching it on G4 right now
Just shows the dominance of the 360 over the next gen. I wish I didn't have 3 red rings though, but I'll get a new one soon.
I'm actually glad to hear this news. This will be one of the best final fantasys of the series if it is done right.
..... -assassinates and teabags- ^_^ Maybe so, but the 360 makes the PS3 look like it was developed back when the Virtual Boy was made xD.
The 360 is more successful though than the PS3 and the Nintendo Wii this first year of the next gen thats what I mean by dominance over the PS3. If Sony doesn't announce something big at E3 I guarentee alot of Sony fans will move To the 360 for new and better games.
And how does that make the 360 a different generation console from the PS3? I understand the whole dominance thing (it's pretty much always been dominant), but a console generation is a set of consoles with advances in hardware that give it a clear cut advantage over the competition. PS2 to N64, SNES to NES. 360 to PS3 is not a good comparison.
I don't think that's what he was saying. I think he meant that the xbox 360 dominates the current generation of consoles (often referred to as next gen), being part of that generation itself, not that it is of an older generation. This is mixed news for me. I love final fantasy, but only the PS1 ones- 7, 8, and 9. Call me old fashioned but I thought the world map really made FF games special, it meant that they could be much bigger due to the reduced graphics etc on the world map. It also introduced a huge exploration and side quest element that I feel has been lost in the later titles. The post 9 games just seem to linear to me, and they've lost what really made FF stand out. I realise that advances in graphics and console spec meant that the low-res world map was no longer needed to make a game huge, but I think they could have either beefed up the world map graphics a little (giving a result along the lines of Oblivion) or just kept with the ethic-have it as a reduced graphical interlude area, and just make it huuuuge. The way they got rid of random encounters in 12 also annoyed me massively, this was another defining feature of FF that made it what it was. You can argue that these things aren't necessary anymore, but I feel they were the spirit of FF games, and the newer ones are just lacking Call me old fashioned if you like, but thats how I feel. Still, this is just another sign of the 360's dominance in the serious gamers market, alongside things like the DLC for GTA4 being xbox only, its things like this that make me smile. And who knows, maybe SquareEnix will make a game that really grabs me, here's hoping..
Hey, I own the Wii and I love it. I am just annoyed that there are way too many Minigame collections (Sonic and Mario Olypic games: is that necessary??) But there are some great games on it (Zelda, Metroid, Mario Galaxy, Brawl . . .) As for the PS3, I feel that it is lesser to the 360. It has the same games (mostly) but with a blue ray player. Yes the PSN is free, but a lot less organized and much more frustrating to use. XBL is worth what I pay. The only plus with the PS3 is the online browser, but that is what I use the computer for. PS - I just wanted to spread the news on FF XIII . . . what have I done!?!?
