Hi Guys, I'm a newb and I'm trying to make the ultimate Co-Op game for Halo 3. My current concept Is a capture the flag variant on Sandtrap that requires Hornets to capture the flag. Supported Gametypes: Capture The Flag Map Description This map is for CTF on Sandtrap. The flags are in difficult spots forcing Co-Op play. It is essential to tactically use the Hornet in your base to achieve your objective. Since one person has to fly the hornet and one person needs to be the flag carrier, teamwork and good communication is essential to win. Since the only way you can really win is with the Hornet, everyone else in the team has to do their bit to protect your Hornet and/or try and destroy the other team's hornet. The Hornet is also the most powerful weapon on the map so getting the balance between attacking the other team and getting the flag is also important. It's great fun to play at LAN parties, best played 3v3 or more. It is possible to play 2v2. Example Tactic In Pictures Get a Hornet: Get a Teammate: Fly To The Other Team's Base: Manouver To The Top Of The Base so that your teammate can safely jump onto it: Teammate grabs the flag (Turns purple just for fun) and can choose to jump off and run, or jump back on the Hornet if it's safe: If your teammate jumps back on board, fly back to the top of your base as fast as you can: Maneuver so that your team mate can jump onto the return spot: Don't get blown up in the process and you win the round! Your post is not up to standards. Images need to be embedded. A link cannot be put to them. Do this by right clicking and saving them from bungie.net. Upload them to an image hosting website like photobucket and then copy the IMG bar under each one. Your title of the thread needs to be the name of the map ONLY. Change it, or a moderator will. I'm know you're new, but there are rules here to create things easy for people looking at maps. The thread will be locked in 24 hours if you don't change it.
I did the same idea, but it was on Valhalla. I added in a Grav-Lift to get to the flag too, but about half the time you needed the hornet. I like this idea, but I doubt it will work well, I know with my map, people couldn't find the flag sometimes, and didn't think of using the hornet. Edit: Change your thread name to just the map name. Edit>Advanced Options>Edit The Name
Since this a preview it must be located in off-topic. The community maps section is for complete maps ONLY. But since youre new here thats fine i guess. Just read the rules next time. OK? But about the idea, im not too keen on old map maps. But thats just my opinion.
Hi, I'm sorry for not following the rules. These forums a big warren and It's confusing about where to start when first visiting here. I'm trying my best to upgrade the post to meet standards. I say 'trying' because the map is ready to play, but it hasn't been stress tested to see if its well balanced and that people play it as it is meant to be played. I've played it amongst my friends and it has worked, so now I want to get it out there. Thanks for your advice guys, I'll keep working on it.
this looks ok, but it is far from the ULTIMATE coop map. i have seen a lot better, but it was a brave move putting this on sandtrap. from what i see, the map is... ok. i see 2 hornets, the flag spawn, the return point, and a guy exploding. so it's like CTF only in the sky for the most part. so its ok. not THAT original, but its still alright. 3/5 for me.
Well, now it looks good. A pretty sweet concept for a map. Perhaps some more testing would have been nice, to get the weapon placement perfect.

It looks pretty cool. I have not seen a Sand trap map in awhile. So I like it there. IT also looks like it would be a blast. Wouldn't you say this might belong within mini games through? I don't know. Anyways It looks great!
Yeah, I'm not trying to reinvent the wheel, I'm just trying to make something fun for players who love Co-Op elements in games and would like something like that in regular multiplayer. I really love the section of Halo 3 campaign in Co-Op where you use the Hornet to drop your teammate off on the top of the two Scarabs so he can go inside and disable it while you sit back and pick off the Scarab's crew. This map is fun and has a novelty element like a mini-game, but at the end of the day it's CTF and it could be played very competitively between Clans if they were interested. I have made a version of this game on Valhalla as well (It's on my fileshare), but I find the wide open skies of Sandtrap to be better suited for aerial combat.
