great amp man u have really impressed me with this.I love the interlocking that u used and i love the doors in the box i have always loved maps with it so it looks realistic i will try this out and tell u if it plays well.=) it looks great and will critisize it after.
I ended up in one of those games and it was pretty fun. I'm sure it'll be even more fun now that I know how the switch works. During the game, I was like, "bridge? where, switch? turret? I'm so confused!" I never realized the tactics that are required with the switch. It's like whoever controls the center controls the map layout. I've always had an issue with Conquest because it often seems like the first two and a half minutes of the match are meaningless. Despite what other posters have said, I think you did a great job of giving meaning to those first two and a half minutes. The layout changes depending on the actions of the players? Awesome! And I'll agree with you on the grenade issue. With parties larger than 3v3 (and maybe even then), players should not have starting grenades. With the hallways angled the way they are and that territory in the pit, there's just too much grenade spam with starting grenades. And as far as equipment and plasma grenades in Conquest, it was never really stated one way or the other by the original creator of the gametype. Those things just weren't in the first Conquest map or two, so people thought they should not be in any Conquest map. But each map author should make small adjustments to the game experience or we'll end up with a dozen maps offering the exact same thing. This map isn't the first Conquest map to offer equipment, but it's the first to include a switch and a changing layout. Great map.
I love the idea of this map. Very nice job interlocking! I am actually going to download this now. -Donuts
This map receives my stamp of approval. One of my top 4 conquest maps. Probably number 2 if you pressed me for an official ranking. The layout is great. The switch is cool. The spawning and point-placement is superb. I can't get enough.
Furious: Thanks for the post, you seem to get around the competitive maps pretty quickly : ) And in game you really did seem kinda disorientated, staring into the shiny blue hole like most players seem to do. For what reason, I dont know? I have a few hypothesis...A)Its shiny and people like shiny things. B)There is a random hole in a astetically pleasing map. C)ITS A TRAP!!!! Novak and Doughnuts: Thank you guys for the support on the map! Cosmic: I consider you one of the main testers, and it seemed in game like you were having fun, so at least while helping me out you werent bored. You have a top 4 conquest map list now? Lol...Top 1 being faction, or one you made?
Actually a really fun map. Is this any different from the time we were playing against each other in that big party room?
Super: I dont remember what you are talking about : P sorry Gun Slinger: Because A)It looks awesome B) It has a much steeper angle compared to right side up stairs C) obviously I want to interlock more lol
Glad I could be a part of a good map coming out. And my #1 is Faction. Vertkwest is my #3. And GO43R's new one is #4. I could probably rotate through the four of them indefinitely, since they're all so different.
The furious review has.... unstruck? Yes, and for some odd reason I cannot edit my main post (too big?) and so, for the story on Bnasties part, go Here You will still be able to see the old post inside this thread, (even though it was removed for a reason) and if a mod could edit the main post, taking off the furious review section it would be much appreciated!
I played this with you tonight and didn't enjoy it that much. At the beginning your team got control of the middle territory which let you get the other middle territories with ease. Once you controlled the middle, we couldn't even get near it. It really seemed like that the first one to the middle territory won.
I think that was in the forge spectacular? I wouldnt be quick to judge it based on that game though, because it started as a 3v3 and then two guys went afk, so it was a 2v2. The best party size (in my opinion) for this map is a 5v5 or maybe a 4v4. We had less than half of the reccomended players.
I have downloaded this via forge spectacular cause I was a monitor but I didnt get a chance to play it yet Hopefully I will get a chance through the FS to play this with a good sized party but for a forge through, this map is wonderful Ps on my map post I responded to your comments if you want to see them
nice merging but not enough pics and your map looks kinda small and NOT good for CTF, FFA maybe... take everyones comments into mind and think of a version 2. i give your map a 2/5
