Yep, I realized today while I was driving that I had severely broken the map after I changed it from the first test version. I'll go into more detail in a few minutes, but I want to make some changes and upload a new version first. Thanks for reminding me. Stay tuned. EDIT: Ok, Version 2 is up now. In the first test version, players constantly spawned in the first room because there were neutral spawns that never got blocked. I originally left them open in case a team started getting spawn camped. I assumed that the game would spawn people near teammates (and thus near the territory) whenever possible and would only spawn them in room 1 when it was needed. But it spawned them there all the time, ignoring many of the other spawns. So after the first test version, I blocked those neutral spawns at the 1 minute mark, which happened to be the same time that the fusion coil that unblocked the other spawns started falling. So it meant that if you happened to respawn at say 1 minute and 1 second into the game, the old spawns would be covered and the new ones would still be blocked because the fusion coil had not fallen yet. That would mean that there were no open spawn points, and the game would spawn you at one of the Foundry default "phantom" spawns (which was outside the map). Here's how I fixed it. I changed it so that one spawn in room 1 remains open for 30 more seconds so you can spawn there if you need to. I also deleted the two stacked boxes in the corners of room 2. This means that if you do happen to spawn in a phantom spawn point for any reason, you'll be able to get back into the action. It also means that the two territories are connected through the back hallway. But going around back there would be foolish and pointless. I also moved the warthog into the back hallway so you can change the Ghost out in favor of the hog if you want. But it's situated in a way that I'm pretty sure it'll be impossible to get out during a real game: Finally, I moved the bubble shield from behind the 4 spawns in room 2 to in the middle of them all so that it is more visible to players. No one knew it was there before. Sorry to anyone who downloaded the broken version. This one should work much better. EDIT: Version 3 is out. The explosions from one of the dropping coils knocked aside a barrel in the next room, opening up a spawn that was not supposed to be open. I changed it to a large barrel, and it seems to work better. I also changed the ARs in the first room to spawn at start, to give a little extra weapon variety.
Hehehe... I do hate warthogs... Man, I've got to get back into these maps forums... I just now got to this and Gridlocked. Anyway, you've created something completely original once again. Nice work. This is why I keep people like you on my friends list. You're like a zip-lock bag. You keep my Halo fresh. I'll never have to buy another videogame. I just have to subscribe to the Furious D portfolio RSS feed (coming soon?). You know I'll be looking forward to playing the finalized version in the near future. PS: New custom title: Mr. Zip-lock. Make it happen.
HAHAHAHA.....thats just awesome. I'll have to try out the new version. It was a very fun map to play, and once again....you seemed to live longer than most players. I don't know what it is that you do, but I'm on to you...
very nice use of time events, i like the open spaces, nice interlocking it looks really fun for conquest, good job.
I nominated this map for most original. =D but, Distortion is getting voted for. Stupid Bandwagon. Grrr. Anyway, awesome map Furious!
This map does look really good with a lot of creativity. Nice merging and aesthetics. I like how the capturing works in stages, which adds a twist to it. The way you seperated the areas was smart but I don't think it is escape proof. good job. 9/10
I don't really care at all about geo-merging, and I like the looks of this map. You are really creative, I would take some time thinking about the respawn blockers lolz.
very good. ive never played conquest, if its even a map, but i really like the looks of this map, ill check it out, after i watch "Heck" Boy 1, gotta see it before the 2nd, i hear its good. 4.5/5
I just became aware that this map is up for the running for Most Original. Please, do not vote for this map. Maybe it is original, but it's also broken. It doesn't always function correctly. And I would be mortified if people started downloading and playing this on a large scale. It's an original idea, but mostly this map is a "proof of concept" map. The bugs are not completely worked out. Please vote for Pallet Parade instead. Thanks. P.S. As if this map has a chance in hell of beating Pallet Parade anyway.
very cool downloading now. 5/5 for the creativity and the fun that i most likely WILL have on it btw. i love how your gametype has more dl's than the actual map
