Introducing... Ghostfence (click image to download) The Ghostfence is the prototype of the Bubble Shield. Situated in front of the defenders' base, one can defend quite effectively with sword in hand. The original idea was to make an asymmetrical map for objective games. One flag is its primary purpose, but all gametypes work. In spite of the name, the Ghost was among the latest additions to the map. I tried to balance the power weapons as best I could (feedback?). I also employed a great deal of object merging. Here are some panoramic shots (keep in mind that the wavy distortion is caused by the process of making the panoramic image, and is intentional): (This is a good example of the advantage of panoramic pictures; I couldn't demonstrate the path of the man cannon better with normal pictures.) Speaking of normal pictures... Two notes: 1) Don't try to give me feedback on weapon placement if you haven't played the map. 2) As far as I'm concerned, this is a public domain sort of map. If you want to take aspects of the map or tweak it to your liking and re-release it, feel absolutely free to do so. You don't even have to give me credit, just don't pretend that you did it all by yourself, and if you could name it something other than Ghostfence that would be great (but I don't really care). On that note, I am unpleasantly surprised to see how pretentious some of you veterans here are. In spite of the fact that I have made several maps, I doubt I'll post anything else here. Peace.
those are cool pics it really show off the maps key features i like it but a little to open on the bridges4/5
Well it looks like you put a good bit of work into this. I would like to see a few more pictures of the actual layout, instead of the panoramic action shots. But it looks good, so I might give it a DL.
Can you please post regular pictures ? I know panoramas are cool and alll, but 1. They don't really give anyone a good idea of what your map looks like and 2. They are kind of dizziying to look at... The map looks cool, but im not downloading just yet. Get some regular picthas, please.
Welcome to forgehub! This is the best map and post made by a junior member in a long time! Geoglitching with the ceiling. How often do you see that? Nice geoglitching and interlocking the way you posted the pics is pretty sweet too.
i really like the pics and stuff but you may want to add afew more over views.. looks like a great bap tho kool thing its using theflames and the ghost which isnt common in good maps..
We need a weapons list to leave feedback on the weapons, but from the screens, this map looks like one that could make a home on many hard drives!
the pictures are in a very um...different angle, makes me wanna vomit (NOT THE MAP JUST THE PICTURES) the map looks good though, a little open looking, but good
Well, I meant feedback on weapon placement, so a list is irrelevant as far as that is concerned, but I'll tally one up and try to get some "normal" pictures sometime tomorrow morning or so (I'm very tired at the moment). Edit: My point is that you could not give me feedback on weapon placement unless you play the map. Even with something as detailed as the diagrams that Bungie releases about their maps can't really demonstrate how the map will play. And apart from the one image on the description that I have just removed, they really aren't drastically different from many maps' pictures on this site. You can actually reveal a lot more about tighter spaces with a panoramic image than a standard picture, which is why I chose to do that. I agree that I don't have enough overview, which is why I am adding other pics soon, but saying that my images are annoying isn't helpful.
Yes the pictures are pretty annoying and I can't get a sense of the entire layout of the map. Maybe add some regular overview shots or an overview drawing. You also said that there were powerweapons but I don't know where they spawn and therefore can't tell if its balanced. Good job though.
Very good pictures to start off, it shows every aspect of your map. Next time you design a map you should think about the name because I don't really see anything like or to do with a ghost fence. The map is cool though don't get the wrong idea. I give you a 3/5
The Shield Door thing is the Ghostfence. As I said in the opening post, it is supposed to be a prototype of the Bubble Shield, though I guess I could be a bit more specific....
