Download Map This map is built from the ground up to actually play great with every mode. Some of the modes that came with the game that no one usually plays outside of matchmaking, such as Oddball and Juggernaut play great here. This is a very original complete map, like the maps that came with the game, but with it's own unique design. There are three large floors on the map, as well as one very small fourth one. There are many fun things you can play here, so to best describe the map, I will first show you some screenshots (note the map is really big, so unfortunately I couldn't show all of it due to the screenshot limit in game) and then talk about how each mode is setup here. The upper area of the map Notice the use of the shield door in this pic, it is used as Bungie intended it to be, completely impossible to camp (if you try it, there are 5 areas that you can be shot through at you, or someone could melee you through the shield door, without the shield door it would be basically impossible to survive at this spot. Back of the map, note that those mancannons are the easiest way up there, but there are much safer paths around the map. There is enough cover by the mancannons that they are a lot like the one in Lockout/Gaurdian. A pic from the ground floor of the map, vehicles are available, but require a lot of skill to succeusfully navigate through the map, without getting killed. This is a view of one of the bases, the bases are asymetric, which allows for many unique games that I will disscuss soon. Note that the bases are however very carefully balanced though. Best pic I could get of the other base, you'll really have to play to see it. Now I will describe how the map works with each mode MLG Slayer-I don't know if any of the weapons on the map are non MLG, but someone could edit this if the map wins, or tell me what to change it to. The map plays great and very competitively with MLG settings in the 8 player match I tried. It seems like the same game with a different map as MLG Gaurdian with the slayer setting, except with a whole new map. Slayer/Team Slayer-The map is balanced well to allow for either, if you have a pretty big party, try Team Slayer, bases rotate and it's very balanced. I recommend trying a Slayer variant first to learn the map, so you don't feel lost when trying to get capture a flag or something. It truley is a whole new map, so it will take at least one match to see the whole layout of it. King of the Hill-Three hills are placed for King of the Hill, the primary hill is way up at the fourth floor in the middle of the map, the other two are at opposite ends of the map, it plays great with King of the Hill as well. Oddball-The Oddball here works very well, the Oddball is at the top of the map, creating a big initial struggle to get to it, then if you do, controlling it is actually really hard (assuming you have a party of at least 6) Multi Flag-Play a Slayer match first so you learn the layout, but the map is very balanced and works well for normal Multi Flag CTF Assault-The Assault here is very unique, and different from the CTF. There are two plant points for each team, at the opposite ends of their bases. Works well if you have a really big party, want to play CTF, and want someone to be able to score. One Flag/One Bomb-It plays like any map designed for these gametypes, the catch is that there is a different base for each Juggernaut-I didn't actually intend to make this a Juggernaut map, but it works so well. I've found Juggernaut to not be very fun on other maps, since no one can ever kill the juggernaut. On Zenith, you'll find it's not very hard (so long as none of the humans try to betray you). VIP-Escort points are placed well around the map, this doesn't work as well as the above gametypes, but it still does. Infection-Infection was added into the map at the last minute, and I didn't think it would really work very well. Suprisingly, it did, if you like the map, and like Infection, you may want to try it out at some point, but it is not a primary mode for this map.
I liked the map alot, but I didn't like the double assault, I felt it was a little easier for the team near the wall to win. I played that awhile ago tho, you might have changed. Plays real nice for other gametypes.
Thank you for helping me test the Assault, as it seems you noticed, the result of that test was basically that it at the time did not work. The Assault works a lot better now than it did when I tested it against you. It still probably will not work well unless you have big party though. If you don't like it, but have a big party, you could also try juggernat, although you'll have to increase juggernaut damage resistance, otherwise no one gets a kill as the juggernaut. I am not going to make a custom game variant, however there are many settings for game modes built into the map to allow you to get a great game setup with a default mode, I did this so only one file is needed to play many different games on this map. If you setup a cool custom game to play here, and file share it, than I'll link to it though.
The map design looks well thought out and formed. I especially like the bridge overpass in the center of the map. Well done.
Thank you. Also note that when you play your going to want to get up there unless your playing VIP and are the VIP. Up there you can be shot at from almost anywhere on the map, however you can also hit most of the map yourself and are hard to notice because your so high up. The Brute Shot there is very effective when used from it's spawn, until someone kills you who followed you up, or someone else snipes you. I'd also like to point out that even though I forgot to mention Terroritories (and didn't notice until now), it is supported, however not a major mode for this map.
I will e trying this out tomorrow because we have a snow day! Looks great and I hope that this one lives up to your reputation.
Thanks, I don't think you'll be dissapointed. However, if you download a map from my file share that isn't published yet, it's still testing, depending on how the testing goes it may never be published, but you may not end up liking many of the unpublished maps, especially if they require a game mode that isn't linked to it unless it's published.
You can drive the Chopper through almost the entire map, it's also very easy to kill someone in the chopper and kill with it and can be a quick way across the map if you can survive. The vehicles actually work very well on this map. They work more like a well balanced weapon.
Thanks, the map wasn't originally intended to use vehicles, however I later found that they worked very well and started to set it up to allow vehicle use.
