    Update:

    Elongation V3.0 is out and about. If you have come to find a good Elongation map, this is no longer the place to look. Elongation V3.0 is now out and playable. Either click the link in the last sentence or in my sig and you will find V3.0. I will keep this up, because it is editable, unlike V3.0 (Delete ANYTHING and it is no longer avialiable).

    Elongation V2.6 is a remake of the classic Halo 2 Map Elongation, which is also a remake of the map Longest from Halo:CE. The basic setup of the map is quite like it's Halo 2 counterpart: Two bases at each end on opposite corners of the map, a center divider and the like. The only exceptions are the Power Drain in the center of the map and 2 Brute Spike Grenades at each base which I added to give it a Halo 3 feel. Also this is the only map that I allow Assault Rifles on. Their were many things, such as Carbines, that had been gotten rid of due to either money constraints or authenticity. It supports all gametypes except VIP, Juggernaut and Infection. You can play it with any of the default gametypes but I find it more fun if played with the SMG gametypes that are also in my fileshire at Bungie.net

    V3.0 is nearly finished and I am looking for testers to work out the kninks. Also, any tips and/or feedback on V2.6 or V3.0 (when tested) is appreciated.

    Don't forget to rank on Bungie.net when you go to download. Also, add some bumps to that thread so that this map get known there as well. Because of Bungies oddly unorganized forums, new maps are usually pushed away by already established ones.

    Note the barriers leading to Shotgun spawn. Missed them in V2.6, got 'em in V3.0.


    Update:

    My current V3.0 has been scrapped in favor of using an infinite money glitched Blank Map. I will however keep the Current one for testing, because gameplay wise, it is done. The only reason I am moving to the infinite money canvas is I dont have enough cash to fix some of my ****-eyed geometry. This also gives me a chance to offset those bridges.

    Update:

    Had a power outage During my V3.0 editing process and POOF! It's gone. So, this means that all signs of V3.0 coming out pretty soon have been destroyed. I don't know where it went, but I do know that it will take a long time to redo.

    we could use a lot more than 1 pic and from the looks of this one there are a couple crooked walls. go back and add some more pics

    The map looks good from the pics over at Bungie.net but I would suggest to you to upload those to this page also. Another thing if you are running into money constraints why don't you use a money glitched Foundry? Looks good so far, we will have to see how v3 comes out.

    I didn't realize the money canvas untill after V2.0 came out. So I decided to work with what I have and it has suited me well up till 3.0.

    BTW. The geometry crookedness (?) is being adressed in 3.0. I saw that it was quite sloppy in this version so I am working to fix all of the issues now, but I am far from done.

    this looks like a very accurate remake. the only thing that doesn't look the same are the two bridges leading to the center, in halo 2 they were diagonal 4.5/5

    ok, now that new pics are up...this looks really nice. Accurate for the most part. I will DL and get back to you.

    BTW what was the name of the halo 2 map that was in the sand/desert and had one base and a weird tunnel?

    I'm thinking Burial Mounds. I don't know for sure, let me pop in Halo 2. **blows dust off of a box labeled "Good Games that got replaced"**


    Yeah. It's Burial Mounds. Now that would be interesting to see redone...

    the last pic doesnt make me dl caz the door and the window looks lke the top but way tp low would inter fear game play 3/5 sorry eve3rythng else looks cool

    I can understand where you're coming from, but that's V3.0. It is still in the process of being tweaked untill it is right. In 2.6, they're not even their. As a way out of the map, well lets just say that's been dealt with. I have been contemplating on just stacking two doors to eliminate the ledge it makes.

    Also, CANADAs ARMY, I don't mean to cause trouble by this, but I can barely understand your typing. If you could at least fix your lack of punctuation, it would no longer be a problem. I dont know where one sentence ends and another begins.

    looks like a great remake, only some of the walls are sloppy and the brigdes that lead to the center should be diagonal.

    I think you mean offset. I checked out the original map on Halo 2 just now and I now they are offset, but I'm sure they aren't diagonal. Besides, if you look at all of the other "remakes" you'll see that they are even worse then mine.

    All will be taken care of in V3.0 if it makes the cut in the importance vote. Dont think offset bridges will make it though. Crooked geometry will.

    Hmm, looks like a fairly accurate re-make to me. I despised Elongation in H2 but the screens make me want to play nonetheless. I see some clean interlocking in the bridges and fence walls, and only a couple of minor disheveled spots. The only thing I can suggest would be to replicate the conveyor belts with pallets and an equipment switch(I cant recall who here at FH made the working conveyor belt), which would definitely increase the aesthetic and playability value of this map. Great job!

    As you said, the conveyor belt is a little daunting in terms of achievability (for me anyway), but because I am on a tight budget ($6, lawls) I decided that it is going to be a spiritual remake rather than a direct remake. On of the first things I cut was the simulated conveyor belt (made out of pallets or bridges or what have you) because when I tried it, having to step over the pallet really bogged me down. Everytime I attempted to dodge behind a box, I would float a bit and thus make me vulnerable for a longer period of time. So I had to cut an important part of the map to make it more playable, but rest assured, it plays much better without it.

    Also concerning the Equipment change, any suggestions on what you want it to be in V3.0? Any answers should be posted here, or sent in a PM.

    While you are making version three please make this inescapable. From the pictures you can grenade jump oit and i'm guessing that back by where the wall meets the foundry windows there is a crack as well since you probably didn't geomerge. Adding a roof would also make it more like elongation.

    there was some thing in the original post about budget constraints these could be stopping him.
