As stupid as the title seems, it's still your ordinary intro topic, but, I'd still like to do one. Ok so I'm Stoj and I'm a new forger (Tried to make many maps and failed them...epically.) I know how to interlock but I'm no good at making floating structures or merging with Geometry. So tips would help with making floating structures because I don't quite understand the Save + Quit technique...do I have to use a lot of teleporters to make structures or what? I'm confused. The reason I'd like to know is because I want to make an addictive Mini-game and it requires floating structures. And if you could give me tips on how to sustain a well built map, good ideas or even just genuine tips on forging, it'd be immensely appreciated. Cheers. By the way; Very nice layout of the forum...AND ily xD
Welcome to forgehub, the forging 101 (located in this link) area is perfect for learning new techniques, though there are a few in particular I'd like to point out. Switches Advanced guide to respawns Unlimited budget (In case you don't have the maps already) Symmetrical/Asymmetrical Items Timed map events and Merging. Can't forget the merging... These guides will walk you through each important step of forge, and with these tutorials' help, you can make a map good enough to become featured.
Wow, I've already got a reply. That's something I NEVER get out of other forums. This place looks like somewhere I'll definitely stay for a while. EDIT: Two replies. Even better.
Ya, we here at forgehub care about our community, there may be some people you find who like to pick on the noobs of the forums, but don't let them get to you, they are just trying to act cool *cough*bnasty*cough*
As Tex said, Forgehub is generally very freindly. You'll come across some asses, but dont let them get to you.
Haha, sweet. Well my next map is actually going to a Minigame involving rockets so right now I need to brush up on floating objects. Also wondering, what percentage (roughly) of us here are Australian. I know that I'm Australian. (Half Macedonian because of parents, but I've only seen Australia when I was born.)
Oh ok. How many Aussies have you come across? Well, could an experienced map-maker let me know what they do before making a map?
Hi there. Glad to meet you. Blahblahblah. You know, the whole introduction charade. Nah, just joking. If you need any help around the forums, feel free to ask any of us about how the site works, and we will be happy to help. If not, tell me who, and I'll pop a cap in their ass. =D
Because Nemi is our Black-Asian of forgehub. Anyway, like lots of people have been saying, feel free to message me if you have a question in any way about the site. I'll help you to the best of my ability. Oh and for the Mini Mods sake don't
I noticed that nobody answered his floating objects question to float objects just hold it in place save an quit. Not this only works with immovable objects such as Teleporters,Double Boxes and Walls to float movable objects use the above method to float a teleporter and then put your object on the teleporter. Oh and welcome!
Hahaha, of course I won't spam, I know the basic rules of a forum. Main rules; No Spamming No Double posting. Oh and thanks Roach. Though when I try with a Double Box it doesn't work. >.< And I will message someone if I come across a problem with the site/forum.
Thanks for the warm welcomes and I hope I do too. Plus - I got the Save&Quit method working fine for me now, I've got a new map coming up.
