Map Title: Omega RvB *Inspired by Sidewinder PICTURES ARE BELOW THE DESCRIPTION! Download Map <---- click Download Custom Team Slayer Gametype <---- click Download Custom Multi Flag Gametype <---- click Download Custom Multi Assault Gametype <---- click Download Special VIP Gametype <---- click Description: A semi-symmetrical horseshoe shaped map, designed to be played with my custom RvB team orientated game variants. I envisioned this map to play best with 10-14 players, but 8 or 16 should work out great too. I felt this map would work best for objective games. I had multi flag, single flag, multi assault, single assault or VIP in mind, but team slayer should also be considered as one of the top game variants for it. Omega RvB consists of two bases, base 01/A & 02/B sitting on opposite ends of the horseshoe shaped map. I attempted to model those bases' layouts to those of Sidewinder, or at least the general ideas. One of those ideas is that there is only one way into each of the bases, yet three ways to exit. Following the layout of Sidewinder you can portal out of the bases to the outer ridges of the map which wrap around to either side but don't allow you to portal back into the bases. I also used another one-way portal inside the base which takes you right above the base's main entrance. This is to reflect how in Sidewinder you could drop out of the upper portion of the base as the second exit. Finally, the main entrances are created with two-way portals that can be accessed from two directions. A left side and a right side, which represents the similar options in entering a Sidewinder base. Once in the base you have to travel down a hallway, with weapons and equipment lining it, to the way point (a Flag or Bomb). This in a way, reflects Sidewinder's hallway to the flag, except instead of stairs leading to an upper room, you instead can turn right / left at the way point to find the armory and exits two and three. The inner route to each base reflects my own touches and should make things sorta interesting. I included Gauss Hogs to represent the power vehicles, tanks, in Sidewinder. Overall, I included several special additions and changes to get my map away from being considered just another Sidewinder Remake and instead its own unqiue Halo 3 map. Please explore it and try it with a group / friends using my Custom RvB Game Variants, then rate it, tell people about it, and provide feedback. I feel you will be completely enthralled by how enjoyable it is to play and hopefully it will become one of your favorite competitive custom maps of all time. Thanks, Luke Base 02B (View of main entrance) Base 02B (The view from atop the main entrance) Base 02B Hallway (to Way Point) Base 02B Armory (with two portal exits) Base 02B Cave Path (to Inner Ridges) Base 02B Inner Ridge Base 02B Outer Ridge
This map does not adhere to proper map publishing guidelines. Read this first. Just redo your post. This looks great, but most people don't dl without pics. Edit: Although a video counts, I suppose.
I think a youtube video would count, not one directly from Bungie. Why would I DL a video from them when I can just DL the map? When I'm here at work Pics are a must for DL's if there's no youtube vid.
I watched the video, and this seems pretty cool. If you added screenshots you'd have yourself a nice post. Good work though. Your Post Ranking: This is cool, but I don't see anything...
for future reference...embed pics and its in your best interest to remove polls... I mean everytime I see one I always vote for the worst one...and I'm almost sure alotta other people will do the same... especially with no pics... go here if you wanna learn how to post as AWESOMEly as possible... OMG CLICKZZORZ HEREZ!!!
I am going to work on fixing that video (not completely sure how yet but i will find a way) when i get home from work which is were i am at right now. I will also take some pictures and save them to my computer and then work on embedding them into the post too. Thanks, Luke
It looks like it could be good. But i have to be honest with you. I looked at the screenshots before reading the description and thought, "Hrmm, looks like some of the Sidewinder remakes i've tried out...". So it might be hard to escape the Sidewinder-remake stigma. But that might just be me. I've downloaded just about every map remake out there, because i'm into that sort of thing. Unlike most others here. So maybe noone else will notice.
Thanks for the feeback... As for how identical it is to remakes that people have created I can't say because I haven't played one yet but I was trying to get the Sidewinder feeling into it so... Thanks.
