Giving reasons encourages people to consider why they are voting and let the creators know what is good or bad about their sig. Feedback is good, we benefit from knowing our strengths and weaknesses yes? I don't want people to vote on a whim after only a glance, I want them to vote based on considered reasons. It also enables me to disregard votes based on bias or dumb reasons like "he made my current sig and he is cool". I can't completely solve the "popularity contest" problem but it prevents it to some degree. Nitrous if you really want a five page stickied thread every week full of one word replies then i'll change the rules, less work for me.
Um, I see barely any difference between the stock image and your so called edited sig. All I can see is that it is a bit (and I mean a tiny bit)darker
It looks just as good as every other tag. Can you not see the curves and gradient maps? The entire lighting is different. It would've had my vote if there was a border and some nice text. Kinda like this...
Yes the entire lighting is different, but not by much. It is very nice, but it appears to have barely been edited.
yeah there is alot different from the stock. there is a HUGE difference lighting and the grandient map too. and i agree with linubidx text and a border would've made it better.
AFter a closer look, I can now see the extra detail, but it still doesnt look a lot different from the stock pic. I think that some people dont have enough emphasis on the text, they have it small, unmatching font and colour and its placed in a blind spot.
On the other hand, I think your text is WAY too much a focal, and it detracts from the rest of the tag... Text should be a focal, though there should be equal emphasis on the main render/whatever. I vote DiZfu7vk +good composition +atmosphere +effects -too much of a manip for my taste -colors could be enhanced IMO
