If you look at some of the most played first person shooters, it seems obvious that gaming is starting to make walls one of the main focuses of the game. Halo 3 came out with forge, the ability to place a wall where you want it to block off a section or enforce a detour. Call of Duty 4 had certain walls that weren't just walls with good graphics, but you can shoot through them. Now, Battlefield: Bad Company has taken it to almost the highest notch. Any wall is destroyable. Now lets look at these games without these effects. Halo 3: just halo 2 with better graphics, vip and infection. Call of Duty 4: just another call of duty in modern times, with a bit of awesome. Battlefield: Bad Company: Another battlefield game with gold rush. If it wasn't for the abilities that involve walls, these games might not be as fun.
I guess you have a point... i'm not sure what kind of significance it has though. Oh, and COD4 is not "just another COD game" ... it blows BFBC and H3 out of the water.
Ughh I hated Call of Duty 4. Didn't even complete the campaign. But the Battlefield series? I've been growing up on that stuff and its demo? I'd pay just for that level! Now, to start sounding respectable... Call of Duty was an okay game with many innovations, but perks, wall shooting and improved graphics? Really? A whole new game? But destructable environments. I mean even in the demo me and Wrestleman are strategizing beyond belief! xTcX
Weird that the most innovate things in all new games are walls. Just wait for nest gen hits like Wall Painter: The legend of weird yellow hues
