How does the finish line work? I don't see any kind of thing that lets you jump into the goal. So you go up the staircase onto the narrow, cramped ledge, and then somehow.. go off of it fast enough to hit the goal line? Anyways, the map looks good. I might queue it.
It took me some time to figure it out too, but look closely, there are a few ramps leading up to the goal line..
Yes there is a ramp leading up to the finish line I'll be sure to add that information to help anyone else that is confused
I like the way that you drop through the finish line from a ramp. I wanted to use that method in Bungie 500 to avoid having to use the man cannons, but I couldn't make it work with the layout I had. Also, I'm glad that you incorporated so many of the anti-cheating ideas into your map, I was beginning to think that people thought it was neat but unnecessary. One thing I can tell you that people will dislike is the "jaggedness" in the banked turn. I'm assuming you placed it like that to prevent people from driving the wrong direction on the banked turn (that's why mine was placed that way, anyways), so it's really just a compromise in ease of driving and preventing cheating. I was thinking of smoothing out the early parts of my banked turn and only using the jagged technique later in the turn to prevent people from getting onto the turn. Perhaps you could do the same? It's a minor nitpick (I personally don't care), but it's one of the things I heard most with my map. Anyways, I've queued this up and will check it out tonight. I'll let you know more once I have a look at it.
thanks glimflicker for the advice i will try to get rid of the jaggedness tonight since im already working on version two when i first started making race maps i always used the man cannon idea but i never liked it since it was random if you landed upright or not giving an unfair advantage to some people so one day when i was messing around with a bridge i found the jump to be a much easier anti-cheating method that didnt flip people off their ride but i must give thanks to your penalty box idea because i always had a cheater who would just jump onto the goal point also things coming in version 2 smoother turns more pleasing to look at blocking of a few gaps strategetic dumpster placement (they were originally randomly placed) an extra mongoose for 8 players smoother transition to and from banked turn *edit version 2 is 99% complete but after a 2 hour test session some bugs and gaps were found so expect version two to be out later tonight or tommorow
guys version two is out download it now!!!!! below are some v1 to v2 pictures to help yall see how much it changed _________________________________________________ Dumpster field V1 V2 _________________________________________________ turn two (much sharper in v2) V1 V2 _________________________________________________ Turn three (better jump and an extra bridge in v2) V1 V2 _________________________________________________ Jump after turn three (more of a jump in v2 that you will land more often) V1 V2 _________________________________________________ Staircase to finish line (gaps filled and much bigger in v2) V1 V2
k thank you im sure youll like it also could you please comment on the bungie forum post so it will stay on the first page thanks
thanks me and my friends have a fun time playing it too also could you comment on the maps bungie thread please
Just played. I didn't it find this map to last that long. It was enjoyable the first couple times around but it gets old fast. There is only one turn and then the field of dumpsters. I would recommend adding something else to the dumpster part to make it a little more interesting. The person out in the lead cannot lose.
i kinda get your complaint about the dumpster field coming up too fast but i disagree about the person in the lead cannont lose because there are plenty places to mess up (dumpster field and turn two and three) that allows people back in the race
