BUt that's one of the reasons schools do it. To make sure that students arent ridiculed by others students for what they wear. AT my school its fairly strict. We have to wear blaack shoes. School Pants, School Jumper, School Polo top, White Buttoned shirt Tie all that stuff.
I rarely have get into any trouble for uniform. I wear the pants, larger than I need pair so that they arent ankle freezers and they're more comfortable and I wear a belt with it (normally my white one). I wear Black skate shoes. I wear the jumper and an undershirt of my choosing.

I know a lot of girls want dress codes simply because they don't have to focus on what they are wearing the next day. With guys, or me, personally, I don't focus on that at all. I grab a shirt, pants, and underwear. It might be a good idea, and might benifit some people, but I would be unhappy with it.

I'd prefer if we didn't go onto the country thing... We had enough arguments with this on the shoutbox. That is a racist comment and I do not appreciate it, I do not want to give -rep, because I think that a mod will ban me. So let's just keep the race card down, and go to the core of the issue.

That being said, I do not believe in uniforms at school. Many think that what clothes you wear will cause arguments between them. It doesn't, that has been over dramaticised in TV and movies. I am involved in the JROTC program at my school and have to wear a uniform once every week. I do not enjoy it, but am forced to. I personally do not judge the person by the clothes they wear, but by their personality.

Now onto the core subject, Dress Code. I hate it. I have to watch what I wear because it might be a 'reference.' For example, a dean at my school made a kid turn his shirt inside out because it said 'Dickies' on it (like the brand name). I find that completely ridiculous! That is the kind of thing I would like to stop, no I don't want to have people in the nude at our school, but I would like a bit of a lighter system. Thank you,

P.S. I thoroughly enjoy the debate system, it allows me to write really long posts and get away with it! :p

    wow...

I don't like dress codes, but they don't really affect me at all. The one at our school is mainly for girls. We don't have to wear uniforms either.

I had uniforms for HS. I didn't really mind it so much except for when the weekend or summer would come and I would have like no clothes.

I think dress codes support the idea that if we were all the same, no one would be made fun of. Sure, bullying goes down somewhat and such, but I would rather get beat up for being an individual free to express myself than go uninjured and being part of a crowd.
