    First,While it may be annoying that the only thing people mention is the one thing in your picture, keep in mind that they keep saying it mostly because they don't read every post by every other user thats posted. Most users look at the original post, and then comment. So it shouldn't surprise you that people mention the most obvious thing.
    Second, yes, gameplay should come before appearance, but interlocking and merging is not just about appearance. Interlocking can be crucial to the gameplay, and in many cases enhance it. Think about it. You're running with the flag, only to be slowed down by bumps. Doesn't suck too much until the opposing team, who had been on respawn, are able to catch up.
    While the forging techniques are never required, you must understand that they play a HUGE role in people's decisions to DL a map. Only in certain cases, where the gameplay looks just so fantastic, only then it can be overlooked, especially if the interlocking isn't a necessity to the gameplay. Unfortunately, in most cases it is. The forging techniques aren't just about appearance. They are gameplay themselves and have become almost the unspoken standard here at ForgeHub. This is an issue people need to deal with. Maybe it's unfair, but it's not hard to take the extra time to do the extra techniques anyway

    I set up double boxes side by side all the way across Foundry. They weren't interlocked. I then ran across them from one end of the level to the other. I then interlocked them all and repeated. The difference in time was less than one tenth of one second. My wife sat there and used a stopwatch, as sad as that sounds.

    There's no way not interlocking boxes makes you so slow that if they were interlocked you would have lived... sorry, it just isn't true.

    I interlock my maps and believe that it makes things look better and more interesting. I just can't stand the nonsensical feedback in which people say they won't DL because there is no interlocking, or whatever the interlocking-related feedback may be. As someone already said: Forge is about making maps to play on, not just to look at; aesthetic maps aside.

    Perhaps there should be a forum for non-interlocked maps. I'd love to see that.

    No disrespect intended... I'm just sayin'.

    I was in no way saying thats how things should be, just that that's the way things tend to be, especially if you want people to DL your map.
    There's currently a contest going for non interlocked maps.

    Think about interlocking. The map is nothing without it. I like the idea of keeping the flag a little safe. I also like how it's obove the ground. That same old foundry floor is geting kind ove old. 8/10 ( work on interlocking )

    uv got some good ideas, i love the flag idea and the roof is a nice feel, some places i feel need to b interlocked a bit more, but it looks very fun and nicely made, well done

    20 hours? without interlocking in an enclosed map i'm very doubtfull. Other than that it looks fine.

    this loooks REally Gewd but u need to interlock the floors, i learned this the hard way :) 5/5 anyway. awsome layout

    ok truthfully its probably took us 15 hours maybe but you really dont understand how many problems we had making this map, we had extremely bad lag that we tried to work through then all of a sudden we cant spawn ittems when theres some right in from of us its like WTF? but yea it took much longer then it needed to.

    I hate to sound like an interlock-monger but you should polish off some of the floor surfaces because I could see where that would be a bit bumpy.
    As for the rest it looks great, and I like the staircases.

    I want to start by saying that interlocking is NOT required for a good map. It generally enhances the looks, and usually minimizes bumps, but it is NOT necessary, So layoff already.
    However, the 7th screenshot from the top and 2nd from the bottom reval that the map could use some tightening up. It looks like it would be very easy to lose a grenade down some of those cracks and that is almost never pleasant.

    thanks for the advice everyone ill tell my friend the replys ive been getting and hopefully me and him can start remaking the map pretty much sence the glitch is ****** up, so wish us luck and keep giving the advice to make this map better it really helps and hopefully you'll like the second version much better then this, but it'll take a little while.

    looks very nice i like the hall way.. it kinda looks bumpy in parts but thats alright good job.

    I really like the idea of this map because of the pallets gaurding the flags sure it can be a pain but it can also be a flag saver so great job on the map could of used some mroe interlocking but eh i see how it is 5/5

    remake

    hey guys im deaths buddy who came up with the idea and design for the map, ive read all your comments and dont worry, me and death will interlock EVERY bit of the floor in the next version so please stop spamming with "interlock teh map" comments. i use interlocking in all my maps but i knew this one would take a while to do so i just half-assed the beta and hopefully in about a week or 2 youll get to see the new version in all its glory!
