Well I'm pretty sure I have a slight solution to camping the roofs of bases on my Standoff map, it hasn't been tested yet. I threw together a fairly decent SWAT map on FOundry, just because I haven't done anything with Foundry since the map-pack released. So I have 4-maps available to test for SWAT (haven't placed any spike grenades because word of that decision hasn't been posted) Standoff Swat The Garage Racetrack ONI Complex #9
Spike grenades was just something we discussed as a tactical addition to SWAT. Spike grenades have little splash damage and can be used in a tactical matter. It was a suggestion to add incentive for moving around the map. Although I'm pretty sure limited ammo was decided upon, and I heard nothing about the spike grenades.
Limited ammo, but no weapons on map, you have to kill people to get ammo. Maybe we also put "grenades on map" to "map default," so grenades can be added to a map if it works on that map. I don't think I'll add any grenades to the two maps I've created so far, but this would make you free to add some to yours.
I completely agree with your first statement. I also think the default grenades might work if you didn't want grenades on your map. I don't even know if they'll work on mine even. Still needs testing. But the limited ammo thing I believe is a very serious need.
We should set it like that with the grenades, that way they'll be there if, and only if the map creator wants them to be, should make it work better on more maps.

Good news for everyone... after our second front-paging, this map jumped about 1.5K downloads... it is creeping over 3K right now.

When we get down the standard for it, it will be put on "Forge Hub"s Fileshare... all of the standards will be put on the community GTs. I'll check it out sometime, but I am slowly getting busier and busier. I may just disappear from XBL soon.
I absolutely loved SWAT and truly think that it should be brought back. I admire you for attempting to do so, but I would have rathered this map be more of a "base map" rather than a "maze". I haven't gotten the map yet so I may be wrong. But still good effort.
It is not a maze... it is meant to represent a soldier training area... think laser tag. It is symmetrical on both sides and not hard to figure out. The trick is looking around each corner. This was not an attempt... this was a success. Before commenting negatively on a map, please download it first, or atleast get well-known for being a good forger. Nothing against you dude... I played the game so many times on this map, and my friends got pissed at me for getting a running riot. This is just a great map, and laser tag is a good way to describe it.
