Empirical Empirical 1.1 is now on my fileshare. Changes: - Added two 1 way Teles from under the wings parallel to the bridges, porting to opposite bridge. - Moved snipe and rocks to top of single boxes in rooms without bridges - Snipe and Rocks respawn time changed to 90secs - Boxes swapped for corner wall setup bottom mid - Camo added bottom mid 60 sec respawn time - Brs moved to L2 platforms - Carbs and magnums moved to main L1 connecting doorways Thanks to KC for guidance and thanks to everyone who tested this today! Enjoy! This is a symmetrical room based arena. The map is split into four main rooms with seperate top and bottom rooms in the centre. There are 4 BRs, 4 Frags, 4 Plasmas, 2 Carbs, 2 Mags, 1 Sniper and 1 Rocket Launcher. The map is set up for TS, Ball, CTF and Koth. For those that are interested, this is the beta version of the map. I spent 80 hours on this (including a draft build) before realising that there was too much jumping required for my tastes. Please leave feedback!!
Actually, this looks really interesting. I love room based combat! I'll DL and Edit with my thoughts/ opinions. [Edit]: I love how this map gives off a sense of grandeur. It's so tall and makes you feel like you're playing in a map much bigger than it actually is. Wonderful placement of weapons make everything play well, and the multi-story element is made brilliantly. Kudos to you. Love this map =)
Dont advertise in some1 elses thread. The map really reminds me of Halo CEs maps Chill Out! The rooms look very straight and the weapon placement is really balanced. Geomerging i awesome. DL fo sho.
I saw this on MLG forums, and you are quite active there. You are quite an amazing forger, and I hope you stay here for a while.
I've played the blazes out of Reverence and really enjoyed my time on it. I love how your layouts have great sight lines and enough cover without being aesthetically intrusive. Also the flow of your maps is very reminiscent of CE and really provide enjoyable experiences. Props on the map it looks like another keeper.
@ Lonesoldier: Thank you, I really do appreciate it. My main interest is competitive maps for MLG settings, so I always post my stuff there. I've had a really great welcome from you guys and all the feedback has been very nice or very useful. @ Jack: Thanks to you also. If you have any suggestions for reverence please let me know. Feedback from people who play tons of games on a map is like gold dust sprayed with gold dust, and then painted with gold.
awesome map baron , it has a asymmetrical feel like reverence, however it is symmetrical. and i love how u made it room based. ur maps are always the most unique.
At the very least I can say that you appear to have a solid grasp on Forging. It looks neat and the layout looks spot on. The only thing I can say, and this is judging from the screenshots only, is that it looks pretty barren. Maybe a few barrels or other creatively placed items could spice it up a bit without clogging it up too much. Unless you have budget contraints.
this map looks pretty fun,it takes up the whole map?Well anyways maybe next time when you post a map put the weapon/equipment on there and write a little more about it,but this is fine for now.Good job ill dl it 4/5 from pics.
Thank you man. How is your forge work going? For competitive gaming purposes, that stuff is a no no. Adding barrels or other movable objects can unbalance a map. The weapons list is in the opening post. I'm not sure what else Id add in regard to writing a little more about it, I thought the description was enough.
I think this map is good. You have interlocked and geomerged (or whatever) objects perfectly. My only concern is that there are so few weapons and if 8 players play on this map, will there be enough?
That's really subjective. You can easily make a map look pretty without sacrificing gameplay. Check out my map Echo, it's very competitive and full of aesthetics. P.S. Not trying to self promote here, just trying to help out.
