I have previously made a map - Offbeat - which I was quite unhappy with, due to my inability to produce the original layout I had wanted and the general durability issues off the map. For those of you that have played it, should I forsake the maps durability (a partner bounce would be able to escape it) for the original layout I had intended? Layout now: Possible future layout: Link to map: Offbeat.
Let me use a metaphor to help you out here. If you were making the most stunning peice of artwork to emerge from the 21st century, would you suffer with the original on a small canvas? Or would you see your project through and make it on a slightly less expensive and lower quality canvas? Would you want people to see the full grandure of the large portrait, exactly how you envisioned it? You are the artist, so YOU must make that call. Besides, anyone who fully appreciates art would not try to bring it down in any way, ie. escape your map.
Apparently I don't fully appreciate art. Nor does the rest of the gaming community. In a perfect world, people wouldn't escape the map, but the world isn't perfect, and people will always do whatever is in their power to win.
