YAY!!! New Halo Book (The Cole Protocol) coming out as announced on Bungie.net. If you missed the announcement, here it is. Bungie.net : Inside Bungie : News Discuss the book here! P.S - If anyone has read Tobias S. Buckwell, please give a review, I'm eager to see what kind of writer he is.
I've always been a keen follower of the story, I'm very much excited to read about Spartan grey team and their adventures.
Does anyone have the list of all the previous books? I have read like 3 but IDK which ones are the rest.
Halo: Contact Harvest Halo: Fall of Reach Halo: The Flood (Halo 1) Halo: First Strike Halo 2 Halo: Ghost of Onyx Halo 3 Ghost of Onyx and Halo 3 over lap i believe.
Here's the list of books in chronological order (Date of release, not Halo Universe time): The Fall of Reach (2001, Eric Nylund) The Flood (2003 William C. Dietz) First Strike (2003 Eric Nylund) Ghosts of Onyx (2006 Eric Nylund) Contact Harvest (2007 Joseph Staten) The Cole Protocol (Unreleased, Release date sometime in Fall of 2008. Tobias S. Buckwell) Fastforward has 'em in Halo Universe Choronology
The Flood gives the story of Halo 1 plus some. It gives Captain Keyes' and other marines stories of their time on Construct 04.
I did a search and they're about the same thing (the events in Halo:CE). I haven't read any of the halo books before. Are they worth buying?
If I had things my way, I would make it illegal to play Halo unless you have read the books. They get you way more into the game and help you understand the storyline a lot better. You can also infer and predict things about the Halo storyline that are not directly given away in-game. You don't necessarily have to buy the books (might as well, I've gone back and read them a few times over the years), but definitely read them.
Yeah, the books are awesome. I downloaded the e-books off torrents via Google. I love the one (I think it's Fall of Reach?) where they tell you about his time as he was trained to be a Spartan. I'm still yet to find a download for Contact Harvest though, except for an Audiobook. I don't really do Audiobooks, y'know?
Lol yeah, seems like audiobooks are for old people or really lazy folks. The Fall of Reach is definitely the book that gets you into Halo the most. After reading it, you know exactly what's up in Halo CE and Chief's life story so far.
