    Looks nice, great description.

Just a suggestion here: Instead of having players try to abide by honor rules when dealing with the primary scarab gun (laser), how about you enclose the area around where the gun spawns, and put a one way teleporter emptying into the room. That way, if a person wants to use the laser, s/he has to use it there, and doesn't even have an opportunity to leave.

Ideally, you would do the same for the secondary gun, but nothing really jumps out at me.

Obviously not the best Scarab I've seen but I sure as hell couldn't do any better. I like how you've spent time explaining the map though and adding an enviorment around the scarab. Good work and nice description as well.

    Re: Scarab v0.5

Like I was mentioning before, the honor rules SEEMED like they would be a problem, but people naturally used the items where they were found due to the good opporitunities for cover and escape.

Running away with the spartan laser has no use- if you go to the back of the level, sure you won't be in the obvious place, but you also can't see anything due to the environment scattered around in the area between the back and the two bases. there's no chances to kill anything, and by the time you DO find someone, they're likely to be close enough to kill you before you charge your laser.

The fuel rod is the same way. Given there's a bubble shield, natural cover, and a huge vantage point, people will naturally play from the area I left it. I helped that fact by limiting the ammo, like I had mentioned, so they used the gun strategically instead of randomly firing into the bases hoping to hit someone. This way, they spend their time up top looking down for a good shot, rather than jumping to ground level and charging headfirst.

with the whole enclosed area thing, that's a problem. When they run out of ammo (especially the fuel rod), they have nothing to do except sit there and hope someone kills them so they respawn... and it would be hard to get killed by most of the weapons when your standing WAY up on top. I think I'll pass on that, though thanks for your concern and input!

    EDIT:
CRAP, sorry for the double post, I'm used to my old forum clumping continuous posts into one... I'll avoid this next time.
    /EDIT

Thanks, I figured there's better stuff out there (I just got a hold of the "Scarab Assault" in the featured maps), but I tried to keep it down to a minimum of my budget while still remaining true to it's source. That way I could build up the environment for the sake of actually playing a nice match on it, unlike with the "scarab assault", where you are given nothing but the scarab, and a wall to hide behind down by the bases.

besides, the scarab assault's design, though visually pleasing, is very tough to walk around due to mis-aligned flooring/stairways, which could cause some problems when fighting one another. MAJOR kudos to the guy for managing the raw scale of it, though.

    Thanks for the input!
