I made this map specificaly for the ZOMBIE INVASION game variant, and MUST be played with at least 4 players to have fun. Anyways, I turned highground into a zombie defense camp and in the beggining of the round, one of your team mates is the alpha zombie. He is incredibly slow but has max health, overshields, instant kill, a graity hammer to knock stuff away, and an energy sword, but does not regenerate health. The map features a scorpion and lots of splasers. He doesn't regain health but is a lot tougher than you think. Everytime he kills one of your teammates, they become a minion. They are weak but can be very powerful in a group and are also good for destroying fusion coil walls. The game ends when the last man standing is dead.
    THE BASE
    [IMG]

THE ALPHA ZOMBIE STARTS AT THE BOTTOM OF THE HILL
    [IMG]

WAYS OF GETTING IN FOR THE ALPHA ZOMBIE
There are exactly 5 ways for the zombies to come in. Watch out for them.
    WAYS 1 AND 2
    [IMG]

You can simply destroy the barricades or break down the trap door. The trap door is easier.

    WAYS 3 AND 4
    [IMG]
You can either try to jump up or blast your way through and enter the tunnel. Watch out though, there are fusion coils waiting inside the tunnels.

    Way 5
    [IMG]
My personal favorite-blast through the pathetic gate. It will respawn after a while.
    DEFENSE STRATEGIES
Even though the alpha zombie is near invincible, there are ways of killing him. The plasma pistols are the fastest way to bring his tough shields down. These are a bunnch of other things that will help.

    LOWER BASE
    [IMG]
The lower base is used mainly to get the alpha zombie to the lowest health possible before he enters but is also filled with powerful weapons. There are two ways for the alpha zombie to get into this room though.

    UPPER BASE
    [IMG]
The upper base hosts a tank and a series of weapons. There are grav lifts you can use to get up. The bottom grav lift does not respawn, making you untouchable by the alpha zombie, although his minion are able to stand on each other to get up or use other objects.

    TUNNEL DEFENSE
    [IMG]
The tunnels as I spoke of earlier, are lined with fusion coils which won't do much to the alpha zombie but will easily take out any minions trying to get in.

    LAST STAND ROOM
    [IMG]
The name says it all. This is the most powerful room on the map. Filled with many weapons, a fusion coil defense, and 3 mongooses for escape, the zombies are going to have a tough time getting a kill, DO NOT UNDERSTIMATE THE ALPHA ZOMBIE JUST BECAUSE OF THE LARGE QUANTITY OF WEAPONS-ITS VERY EASY FOR HIM TO GET IN(CAMPING NOT SUGGESTED)

PLEASE GIVE THIS MAP A TRY IT GETS QUITE ADDICTING AFTER A WHILE, AND PLEASE COMMENT ON ANY WAY THIS MAP CAN BE IMPROVED.

Whats to stop the humans from camping the back? Thats what iw oul do if I was a human. and then it becomes impossible for the zombies.

I don't think you should have added a armory also this seems similar to most fat kid maps. Is there anything you made thats different from the others? All I can see now is a few barricades for the humans to hold out then an over stocked armory. I think you could add more to this map to improve it.

like i said in one of my last few reviews, the armoery does not help that much at all- youll prbbly stand a better chance moving outside of the base. if u dl it and play with like 5 ppl or watever ull see how easy it is for the zombie to get in.

I hate to say it, but this map seems a little (or a lot, depending on the individual skill of players) too imbalanced on the side of the Humans. A Tank is almost always a bad move in Infection, especially if the Humans are practically forced to camp in an area.

The idea of a slow, powerful alpha zombie is not new either, and a large number of gametypes with that premise appear throughout the internet. That said, you have clearly given thought to the map and made it so that it caters for the gametype, rather than just being a random map with a base (the non-respawning grav lift for example).

The most striking blow to the game is the inclusion of Armories. Though as you say the Alpha zombie is powerful enough to absorb a lot of fire, a smart team of humans will make use of the armory to their benefit without camping in it (fleeing when the Alpha zombie is near and working together to take him out, using the overwhelming mass of weaponry to eliminate weaker targets) although it is not entirely game breaking, as smart Infection players will use combined assaults to break through.

That said, as noted above, it's nice to see thought being put in, and a map being generated for an existing type of gametype (regardless of whether you knew about fat kid before) rather than simply playing it on existing maps.

Also, take all that I have said negatively with a pinch of Salt, as I am known to be a whiner when it comes to Infection (what can I say, I'm a Purist).

Thanks to you, by the by, I have had an idea. Hopefully, it will come to fruition soon enough.

Last-minute addition: Well, shite. I forgot to say the good things...

For starters, the respawning gate is a nice addition. It prevents the infection from always using the same entry, as they will be forced to spend time (however limited) breaking it down, increasing the likelihood of death.

Also, the Fusion Coil barriers look to be a good addition, forcing the Infected players to work together at least to an extent, as the Alpha zombie will not want to harm themself whilst progressing through the base, leaving him relying on weaker zombies to bust through.

Considering the crapness of Forge on non-DLC maps, you also appear to have done a good job of blocking off entrances, so well done there.

All in all, a map I would play with a few mates on a Sunday, though perhaps between other games rather than as the main-stage performance. As this looks like it may be your first map (I went and looked at your "find all threads started by this user"), you've done a great job of posting too.

i like the idea but i think its too one sided, i know its an infection game but it looks like too much defence and armeries arnt a such a good idea, but the fusion coils in pipe r a new idea, looks very fun ill try it out
