So I was thinking of things which haven't been explored much on foundry. I've seen maps with death pits, but only very small death pits. Once i decided to have a go at making a map orientated around large death pits, the concept of the map and a very unique layout came flooding to me. The budget, as ever, meant I had to compremise on certain things, but I managed. Description: (from b.net thread) Gulf Chronicle has a very unusual layout. The main floor is L shaped, with a base at each end. There are three "pits", two of these are death pits with must be jumped across using floating platforms, and the third leads to the "shotgun room". There is a tunnel from the shotgun room which curves up to an elevated observation area, perfect for sniping. There are one way teleporters from the bases to the shotgun room. I've tried to make the layout as clear and easy to visualise as possible with the pics and description. I know many of you will see the shotgun and shield doors and instantly think camp-fest. For sure download from me it looks fantastic! I like how you made the panorama view, 3 images in one to show the entire map, I would have never thought of that! Also has lots of replayability and fresh material which I was looking for. P.S.Where do the teleporters in the death pit send you?
I just played this about a half hour ago. This is a great map. It looks so good and original, and the way you setup those death pits works so well ingame. Everyone should download and try this, it's a really good map, and the best Slayer map I've found here so far.
I enjoy this map more than your other one you posted I played it with gravedigger and this is now one of my personal favorites. 5/5
I didn't play it but I checked it out in Forge. It looks really neat and the layout looks interesting. I didn't remember the description when I loaded the map so the first thing I did was say to myself, "woah, a pit with teleporters, I wonder where they go.... AHHH" Lol. I'm assuming this is set up for objective games too. CTF? Assault? They would probably be fun here as long as the flag carrier can still jump to those platforms with the slow movement. Did you make it for those games, and if so, can the carrier make those jumps?
i remember seeing this map bungie. i was really impressed there. I'm seriously running out of space for map variants though so i didn't download. however, some people are saying that this is a quality map, so i'll probably dl later.

I may have to add that to the OP. =P Furious D, yes it works with all gametypes, and yes a player carrying an objective can make the jumps, although why not change the carriers gravity and make it so he can't? This would fall under the catagory of better maps I've seen recently. It appears like it would make great for an offense/defense CTF game. Interlocking objects too, I like that. The tunnel that goes beneath the map adds a nice touch to fill the space. This is excellent. Downloading now...
