This map is a Team Slayer map, created for the Legends of Forge competition. The map is basically two bases facing one another, with a touch of Foundry's original placement. Supporting 4-12 players, and meant for Team Slayer. Contents I: Description II: Weapons III: Tactics IV: Pictures V: Credits ----------------------------------------------------------------------- I: Description Compositive means compounded; synthetic. This map was created with just 2 sides to see how it looked. However we decided, to combine apart of another map (Original Foundry). We used some of Foundry's scenery placement ideas to create the map, eg; the rocket spawn looks the same, however we replaced the rocket with a brute shot. A problem we found with this map was that the power weapons were too powerful. So we decided to set the power weapons (Sniper, Brute Shot, Shotgun) all to 1 extra round, with a spawn time of 120 seconds. We also decided to do the same with the Overshield and Active Camo. (They replaced the Bubble Sheilds). The next part of our map was like a massive feature. We had a lift made of 2 Man Cannons, to take you to a top platform. This platform has many barriers, with two turrets and a Sniper at the very end. To remove camping at the top platform, we added two more ways to get up there (Totalling 3 ways). The 2 bases, look exactly alike. They are both merged into the ground, with a grav-lift in the middle of the top part of the base. Each base contains 4 barriers, plus 2 spikers and 1 battle rifle. Consequently for campers, these bases are more platforms than bases, as they are only a single box wide and you cannot get inside them. Another twist is, the bases aren't used as much as other bases, because they do not provide much action/cover. You also do not start or spawn very often in these bases. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- II: Weapons 6x Battle Rifle 1x Shotgun 1x Sniper Rifle 4x SMG 4x Spiker 2x Plasma Rifle 2x Needler 1x Brute Shot 2x Mauler 2x Machine Gun Turret 12x Frag Grenade 10x Plasma Grenade ----------------------------------------------------------------------- III: Tactics Compositive requires tactics, that not many people know. The most important tactic is to not go straight for the power weapons, instead go for the Oversheild. The person that you are versing will most likely go for the power weapons and beat you to them. With an Oversheild you will have more of a chance. If the oversheilds taken go for the Active Camo. Secondly, there are two camping spots at the front of the map.(They have shield doors) If you have a power weapon, the best place to go is there. If there are already people in the camping spot, find two plasma's. (The other camping spot). Your best bet to take down a person who is camping in there with a power weapon is to be a suicide bomber. Run in and throw your grenade, which will probably kill both of you. If the person gets the weapon and camps again, waste their limited ammunition. Thirdly, find the flare. The flare is the only equipment in the game. It is very useful against someone who has a power weapon or is about to kill you. If someone is waiting for you at the top platform, through a flare through the lift, then a grenade, then come up. Remember, use the top platform wisely, as not many people look for you there! Last but not least, the second most important tactic in all of halo. Look around the map in Forge, and get your feel for it. Then verse your player but don't win. Look at his tactics, and try to counter them. If he always runs for the shotgun, get to the shotgun box before he does and kill him. If he loves the overshield, get to the overshield first and kill him. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- IV: Pictures Base A Base B Top Platform Camping Overview ----------------------------------------------------------------------- V: Credits Created by money360 and edited by GEN MASSACRE Download Compositive Here
this map isnt up to standards. please review the thread on how to post a map and fix this within 24 hours. thanks.
The only thing you post is missing is some embedded pics. To Embed: 1. Save the picture onto your computer by right clicking it and pressing save as... 2. Go to: ImageShack® - Image Hosting. 3. Once there click Browse. 4. Search for the saved picture. It'll be where ever you saved it. 5. Double click the picture to select it. 6. Press "host it!". 7. Scroll down once it bring you to the next screen. 8. Copy everything in the "Hotlink for forums (1)" box. 9. Paste it in your post. Thought this might help, and Welcome to Forgehub EDIT: since Im an awesome guy, I took a look at the pics. The map is ok, by Forgehub standards. Flipping the double boxes over and interlocking them would create a much more smoother surface. Also, I wouldve expected to see the bases being a bit more bigger. Apart from that the map is actually an awesome first post, here on Forgehub. Im looking forward to more maps from you.
some more pictures from overhead would be great to grasp the layout better, but you were pretty organized and thourough with your post, so its all good. looks pretty nice, although i dont know if id promote camping. it does enough of that on its own. hahaha
It is kind of impossible to take a picture from overhead, because half of the map is up high so it blocks the lower parts
gotcha, been there. well, it looks pretty nice. some parts look a little rushed, but overall definately not a bad map
one last thing you need to do, have your map name the name of the map, and the name of the map alone, as that helps keep the maps section alot cleaner (well, cleaner then bungie's anyways...)
Ok Tex, I have done what you said. Also, I rushed a tiny bit of it, because I was getting frustrated of being patient lol. Thankyou
if it is only for team slayer then i won't DL i needs more unless it is a REALLY good and fun map not saying yours isn't but there are more fun ones
looks quite good, some nice forging with geomerging but would b better if u turned the boxes over it just looks neater
