Grifball Snow Download Map Description: A "winter" arena for Grifball, of the same (or very similar) dimensions as the original. I think the snow makes it look prettier, and one of the side walls is different in a way that may just leave you hanging. (Hehe, sorry. That was awful.) Still needs to be properly playtested, but on a quick runaround I couldn't manage to escape the arena. If anyone does manage to escape, could they please let me know how, and from which part of the arena? Please let me know what you think! Screenshots: There are more shots in my Bungie gallery.
hmm it would be alot better if you went over and interlocked it so it was perfectly smooth but its not essential good job not seen this an actualy griftball court on avalance yet gj"! Jeez i was quite harsh there considering this is your first map its actually quite well made and you had an idea and stuck to it which is good, I will be looking forward to seeing maps from you in the future because you are in a league of your own with other newcomers being that you know how to post screenshots, and understand you need to improve like everyone here does even the best every day you learn something new - for instance today i learned I shouldnt talk so much good day.
Yeah, I tried to do that as much as I could when I built it but was too excited to get my first map finished. I'm new to Forging... Is there a special, easy way of doing that? Or is it just done by slowly aligning each box until it the walls are smooth. I found that because the ground isn't flat it made it hard to line them up properly.
Ok this is my little trick probably some other people use it too but this is how i started, get your double boxes or w.e and align another box onto it... thats confusing to explain ill post some screens how i do it ok Ok Double box 1 is your wall, Double box 2 is your "ruler" and double box 3 is what you want to interlock into double box 1. to do this make sure number 1 is on place at start no, then restart round and move double box 3 into where double box 1 was but make sure double box 3 is touching double box 2 using it as a ruler to guide the perfect edge and this is your result Then delete double box 2 and viola
Not a problem if you ever need a hand im here most of the time ok just send me a pm I just noticed your screenshots just died lols! Hey I see you having troubleembedding your images into your post, but dont worry here is a quick guide to fix this problem ! Step 1. Access your Bungie.net screenshots that show your map & save them onto your computer. Step 2. Create an account on www.photobucket.com (its completly free). Step 3. Sign into your newly created account. Step 4. Use the Browse feature to select the screenshot/s required. (making sure you are selecting the pictures from your computer). Step 5. Press Upload and wait untill the process is complete. Step 6. Use the IMG Code
nice job and idea (even though its not original) i like how you can fall of the map. but it might be annoying getting hammered off. Also for griffball, this map is easily escapable
Yeah i was thinking about that... the only way that you could make it unbreakable would be to cover the top entirly with a full length roof which would suck... The way you could escape would be if someone hit you with their hammer while you jumped you'd go right over....
Yeah, I thought that might be the case too... a friend and I did a quick test with the actual gametype the other day, and even hitting a running, jumping bomb carrier didn't get him above the wall level. But like I said, it was a quick test, so I guess it could be possible. If I get a decent amount of time (and am feeling particularly patient ) I might try to stand bridges on their sides along the top to create some extra height. Thanks for the replies so far!
Thanks! I've tried to test this briefly - a few attempts at hitting an airborne bomb carrier with a hammer didn't force him outside the map. But I wouldn't class it as a thorough testing. If anyone does manage to escape, could they let me know?
This is the funniest thing that I roll up on this today. Just the other day I got this idea and started work on my very own "Snowball" as I called it. It is in my fileshare now. It is only basic map size and the first wall. I was only trying to visualize if it would work.
Haha, I was kinda the same! I thought up the idea and made the arena, and then went to upload it on Bungie and noticed that it had already been done. I'll have a look at your version soon. Maybe we can combine our ideas and make a Snowball ultra-arena.
I am down for that. But keep in mind when looking at mine, it was purely to get the idea visualized and to see if it was even remotely possible.
