So, awhile ago, I was playing on my friends Infection map. I was the last man standing, against a horde of evil mutant blood-thirsty zombies. I quickly run into a room, find out it is a dead end, and die an agronizing death. I found this, er, retarded to say the least, on how the last man standing sometimes have little to no protection, so I set out on finding a way to aid the last man standing.

My first stop was weapons... A lot of good those did me once I ran out of ammo. Some players would have rooms filled with weapons, but none would have enough ammo to stop the horde, let alone when I reloaded, I was decapitated.

Then I went onto the Grav-lift closing doors. These were a real pain. I would run through one, get thrown up into the air, smack into the box and die. Not Fun. Or, I would shoot it then try to walk in, only to get closed out of the room. This got to the point where I actually glitched by being INSIDE the box, because it fell on me.

So after these two failed attempts, I decided to make my own way. It would be in the footsteps of the grav-lift doors, but a little more sophisticated. The one you guys will see in the pictures are of the original, made on High Ground, but you can easily incorporate the idea even better into Foundry.

As you can see (if the picture comes out... does this take photobucket?), it is a really simple design, but it is a real pain to nail it down. Simply find your door (You can now make your own with the walls in Foundry), after that is done, put down a crate. Insert two Machine Gun Turret Boxes [Open] (or walls on Foundry/ New maps). Then place a pallet over those two boxes. Delete the Crate and put another one on top. For added stability, place a pallet sideways inbetween the two boxes on the floor, and place a Teleporter Reciever Node, so the Crate does not move once in place. I did not, because that makes it too cheap (if you use that technique, mine survived a whole Spartan Laser Round, Two Rocket Launcher shots and 2 Grenades before it moved enough to allow someone to come in.)

Hopefully, someone will find a good use for this little dohicky, I created a map, but it is basically just to show off it's capacity.

Hope you guys have fun and feel free to critique!

That is good as long as it doesn't respawn

Looks like a good idea.. like a closable door, then you add a gravlift to 'reopen' it.

I guess it would also work, if you made an upward shaft where the door would go, and the box would float in the shaft until someone kills the gravlift below it, then it would fall down, making it impossible to move.

well in foundry, trying to make a closeable door is a biatch. I mean, in Foundry, the first time I saw door in the object list, my face lit up with joy. But ten it wouldn't move and I was furious. Why don't the just name it, "Does not what you expect"

That door on Foundry dissapointed me too. What the hell Bungie? But anyway, a closeable door like this is a good idea, just keep a gravlift on the inside so you can open it if you like.

You could make it so the last man jumps higher than humans, and then make something for him to jump on. I remember when in Halo 2, I'd stand on top of crates surrounded by a beserking brute.
In forge though, I had a different idea.
I realize I should make a diagram of this. Oh well.
For something like this, I'd say use two pallets supported with weapon holders against the hole. Inside the room is two fusion coils and the two pallets. You'd do an object switch, and when you destroy the pallets, they'll respawn as doors.
Yes, that was a blatant self-promotion. I am such a genius.
    Edit:
Thought of another thing. Why don't you just: (list of instructions)
    1. S&Q a weapon holder against a wall.
    2. Put a Grav lift on the weapon holder facing facing towards the wall.
    3. Put the door in. It will be pushed by the grav lift pinned against the wall.

Basically, it's being pushed against the wall, so it won't move around. When it falls, it'll fill up the hole.

BTW, do you have the new maps? That would help a bit.

    Bloody brazilian trap?

    More like.. a crate door.

But anyways, nice idea. Having a useable door would definitely help in a whole lot of situations.

maybe have a timed fusioncoil drop to close the door?

anyhow, this is an awesome idea.

    Thanks you guys,

Although I am actually Brazilian Rider,

The Bloody part comes from a guy who helped (played around with a turret during the 'making process') make it.

Also, it respawns sometimes, not always, but I find that that makes it supprising...
