Man, and to think that that was going o be the name of my next map after Complex 09 and Threshold.... (CLAIMED!!! ) but I see you put it to good use. Downloading, and I'll check it out.
I say, even though the pics are a teency bit too small, this map looks pretty fantastic. I didn't spend much time seeing the overlay drawing, but i like it very much. I'll definitely download it next time i feel like getting on halo.
Good map, good layout, as many others have said, good presentation, well presented. I was wondering if I could make an MLG version of this map, just changing the weapons? My good MLG friends would love this! 9/10
i dont care if you tweak little things like spawn times and weapon placement on your own version. i just ask that you keep it on your xbox/friends xbox. i dont want it uploaded in any way other than what i have done. im sure you understand.
The Review Hub Map Name: Elysium Author: thesilencebroken Reviewed By: Iv0rY Snak3 Enjoyment: 8/10 This map is great fun to play on with smaller parties, it allows for constant action, in a nice unique layout. it loses marks because you are constantly dying from grenades, there are a few too many, and almost everyone in my party had some kind of grenade as their tool of destruction. just remove a couple of unnecessary pairs, and it would greatly improve the gameplay. Balance: 8/10 being a symmetrical map, you have to be pretty stupid to make it unbalanced. but the problem is the weapons you chose, well not so much weapons as equipment. The OS and camo spawns could have been switched around, because generally in gameplay, i found that a lot of grenades were ending up on the top floor, so an OS would be more suited up there, and there was little traffic on the bottom floor, so camo is quite helpful, allowing you to sneak up to the higher levels. Durability: 5/10 the map is inescapable, which is always a plus, although spawning can be a problem. the starting spawns are horrible to be honest, both teams spawn facing each other on the middle level, extremely unprepared, and it never ends well. easy fix though, that would get you an extra mark or two. also, some spawns in 4v4 games can turn out quite bad, there was a point in a match where i was facing off on one guy, 1v1 style, then two of his buddies spawned behind him and i died, when originally i had the upper hand. i know the spawning will never be perfect because of the layout of the map, but they can be improved upon. Aesthetics: 9/10 the map is beautifully interlocked, (except for one small unnoticeable section) not a bump anywhere, and everything is well lined up, i can tell you put a lot of effort into making it look beautiful. although there is something missing, there isn't anything that i will remember aesthetic wise from this map. but that's not a problem because the gameplay provides some hilarious accidents. Originality: 8/10 the layout of the map is unique, and adds something to the gameplay, although there have been other maps in the same style as this, they have not achieved the same unique gameplay as elysium has. Overall score (Average of the above): 7.5/10 I enjoyed mos of my games on elysium, except for the spawning problems, it was great fun. i would reccomend smaller games of 3v3 or 2v2 aas opposed to 4v4 because of the size of the map, and the spawning improves with the size of the party. overall, greatjob, just make some tweaks to your spawning system and it could be even better.
I remember playing this with Reynbow and Toochie. It wasn't all that great (Maybe because all we used was FFA) and quite boring, actually. Aesthetically awesome maybe, but not great gameplay-wise...
NOW THIS is what i like to see. You played the map what seems to be several different times in several different ways, and you put some real effort into your review. I'd love to see some more of these reviews from you on my other maps. =) The bubble shields were there to cool down on the grenade spamming mostly, so i guess i had an epic fail there. lol Yeah, well, it is meant for Team Slayer and Team objectives mostly. I would recommend you try it that way, but i appreciate you coming back to give me the feedback.
Even though I'm under the boyfriends name and not mine .. I FREAKIN LOVE IT AND AM READY TO KICK EVERYONS BUTT IN IT AGAIN. yeah and totally rule at CTF too.
i really like the layout picture. it helps understanding all maps. very nice. im looking forward to your future creations.
The updated map plays about 100 times better! Good job with it, and i can't wait to see these new maps.
is there anything to equil out to the sword in this? b/c i remember last time if you had the hammer you ruled it.
the way this map works, the sword usually isnt very overpowering, depending on the players. theres a shotgun in the basement. i dont know about you, but for me 9/10 shotgun beats sword. this is just in my experiences, with my friends/testers though. i never found the sword to give a large advantage to a particular team. i play tested the weapon placement a bunch. I wanted it to be exciting, but balanced. i dont find MLG to be all that exciting. personal preference is what it all boils down to.
Please read this thread about how to post your map. Note that you are not allowed to have anything but the map title. I have changed this for you. http://www.forgehub.com/forum/showthread.php?t=1191 -Donuts
