Nice, my downloads have reached the limit however Curse the 100 dl limit! FTL (For the lose), Anyways, the map looks pretty good and I like the fact that you SAY that the map is balanced. How do you know if you have not tried it?
LOL! I suppose that I say it's well balanced because of my sense of gameplay built over the years. Although this is my first completed forge, I am not foreign to map editors. I'm a seasoned gamer. And enjoyed many map editors on the PC. I feel I have a strong understanding of balanced game play. I put several late nights into this map. It was well thought out ahead of time with very few deviations from the original plan. But you're right, I can't be sure of the balance without some serious testing. That's why I've posted it. To get it out there and hopefully obtain some constructive criticism. It's to bad you've reached your download limit, I would really like to get some feedback on it. The screens don't give it justice. It's surprisingly complex.
Did you download it? It's surprisingly complex. The screens don't do it justice. Download the variant or video to find out the true game play of the map.
Seems like a nice map, what weapons do you have on the map? Is the map aimed towards competetive people or people Just in there for the fun?
This map looks interesting. I'll download this and check it out in Forge. I'll let you know what I think. Why didn't you set this map up for Territories? It looks like it would lend itself well to Land Grab (symmetrical terittories). But I agree with Maxwell. At least try and get two buddies in the game for a 3 player FFA slayer or something. Spawn points are one of the easiest things to mess up, and you don't know until you start respawning in a real game.
I do believe testing is key. Feel free to give me a shout on performance tips. Sorry I haven't added support for territories yet. I will soon! I edited original post with an added MLG rendition as well as more screens. Give me Feedback! Thanks guys!
Competetive. Each side has: Weapons: BR, AR, Plasma Pistol, Bruteshot, Shotgun, Carbine, Turret, Needler Equipment: Gravlift, Tripmine, Power Drain, Frag(x3), Plasma(x3) Centered on Map: Weapons: Rockets, Sniper, Sword Equipment: Regeneration, Oversheild, Active Camo MLG adjustments: Removed Sheild Door (Slight variance in wall here) Added 'Easy up' Crates to 'front door' rooms Removed Turrets Removed all Equipment with exception of Gravlifts and Powerups Added 1 Gravlift in place of Regeneration on Upper Deck Adjusted Spawn Times for Sniper Rifle and Plasma Pistols Oversheild set to NOT spawn at start Added 2 Magnums Added 2 BR
Tesai, double posting is bad. As far as your map goes, it is good. Everything looks carefully placed and tidy. I like that in a map. I liked how the sides were symmetrical except for those crates, which served the same purpose on both sides but had different layouts. It gives each side it's own flavor. I like it when people do that. I also liked the floating A & B Signs. I could tell that they were probably there to cover a gap, but I liked how they were out of the way of the fighting. More people should do it that way. I only had two concerns with this map. First, I think that it might get repetitive. There were a couple different ways from one base to the other, but they were both similar and shared the same area of the map. Granted, I haven't played a game here so maybe what I think will be repetitive will actually be a constant, intense struggle over that area. Who knows. The other thing that bothered me was the rockets. What are they doing up there? There is no obvious way to get them, and no way to even know they are there unless you are flying around as the monitor. Players can get there by using a grav lift, or they can toss a grenade up there to knock the rockets off. But no one is going to do that unless they know the rockets are up there, and no one will. Overall, very good map. I'd like to play a game of CTF or Territories here.
Yeah sorry about the double post. I'm not one for bumping. But hey thanks for the advice! The gravlift is the most important aspect of this map, it will allow you to get to that rocket, or jump from the 'flag stand' crates to the top level, or through the wall above the flag to get to the turret quicker. Basically what I wanted to create was a situation where a player gets that feeling of, "Should I waste my Gravlift now, to get those rockets? Or maybe use it once I get the flag for a clean getaway. But what if I can be the first to the sniper rifle? OMG I don't want to waste it, what do I do?" I wanted to make Gravlifts valuable. I think it worked, and I think that it will be used to expand the ways to traverse the map. So that sort of explains the Rockets, and also I wanted people to play and say, "Where the hell did that guy get the Rocks!?" Such a strong weapon should be earned. So lets play it! I don't mind making adjustments to make it play better. I'd love to tune it in. I think this map has alot of potential. Would you mind if I sent you a friend invite? Thanks again, Furious D 18! And by the way.... I made it on Bungie Favorites with my screenshot Safe within. Check it out!
