    Hello,

I have been working on map that contains lots of Single Boxes, and Double Boxes. I had been trying to keep the same color code just because I am a bit picky out it. Now I have got about 4 Boxes to keep the same color even after 'New Rounds' and 'Restarts', however I am getting stuck now because anything new that I add keeps changing its color! If anyone actually knows how to keep colors please tell me the technique. Also fyi I am interlocking the boxes, have to keep it the possibility that it wont change if I am doing that. Thanks.

It took me some time with a bunch of tests, and as simple as it sounds it took me awhile, so if its already been known please dont rag on me for not knowing :(.

First off I want to say that in my train of thoughts, each time you spawn a box it is set 2 colors, an initial display color, and its permanent color. So when you spawn a box the display color might be blue, and its permanent color might be red. Now you have this block and you set it into place. Now when you save/restart the match, the box with change to its permanent color! This kinda sucks since you wont be able to guess what the permanent color will be initially. The best way I can think of and am now using is the following.

I will use the word "tap" for a technique of picking up the box, moving it back into place, then letting go.

    1. Spawn your box. Move it into place, and set up some markers so you know where it last was.
    2. Save/restart.
    3. Check the color of the box, if its not the right color tap it.
    4. Repeat steps 2 & 3 until your box is the correct color!
    5. Once you see the correct color, that box will not change again :)

IMPORTANT: REMEMBER IF YOU GRAB THAT BLOCK AGAIN AT ALL THE PERMANENT COLOR WILL CHANGE, SO BE CAREFULL.

I hope this helps anyone, and if you have an easier way post it :).

I kinda like the idea of color code boxes for simple reasons of objective matches for red vs blue mapping.

Sorry I missed your reply I was sitting on my own for awhile doing the tests ect trying to figure it out myself. Still if you could send towards that post, I would like to read it. Thanks

I just read the the link you sent, thank you. Also I wanted to let you know that I am useing my technique for merging objects. I havent tried it with geomerging though. When I merge objects I usually set the block into place, and slam some walls up against it and use the floating object technique to keep it straight. Then I can easily go back and keep tapping the boxes and save/restarting until its the right color and save :). Again hope this helps.

This is a little off topic, but would anyone be willing to help me with geomerging? I am having a hard time with the Corner Wall in Foundry. I am going to bed for now, but if you think it would be easier to show me than to type it out or link it, send me a friend request GT: xxDECKERxx

    Again thanks.

Before I went to bed I went and tested if you needed to go into a custom game with your map to get the permanent colors out, and as far as I can see all you have to do is start a new round. I hope that will put less stress into doing this and allows people to think twice about not using it because of all the work for such a small gain :). Anyways good night.

Great posts, but don't double post in succession. Wait for someone else to post before you do that, or edit your old one.
