now make a whole cube map blocker scheme out of metallic cars! (might cast an interesting effect onto all pieces)
@HeX Reapers why do I keep getting kicked from the Mythic discord. Don't know what I would have done to salt anyone there.
The temporary access toggle was on in some of the invites that people sent out. I'll update this post with a link.
https://discord.gg/xrDkV8t Here's the link. We'll be having pretty consistent test lobbies through out the week and then some just for fun and to hang out for the foreseeable future after.
Not that I'm expecting a massive influx of maps made in Reach but it would be great if they implemented some of the improved object manipulation upgrades from later versions of forge. As much as I would like magnets I'm sure that would be a bit of a stretch but the finer incremental adjustments might be doable in a more reasonable time frame. That being said I would love to see Reach's controls thrown into Halo 3's Forge, that thing is a nightmare.
crazy idea, but what if every forge object ever was tossed into the mix? They're all in the MCC files somewhere anyway...
I was actually going to post that it would be fun if just for shits and giggles they added Halo Reach and possibly Halo 3's objects to the Halo 6 forge. Imagine remaking one of your maps from Reach in true 4k with dynamic lighting that you had to now add or the thing would be pitch black. Also, let us pray that BSP is a thing in the new Forge. I try not to get my hopes up about the next iteration of Forge but I just keep imagining a Forge where Forgers aren't limited by the intent of the Forge tool. Sure people already do amazing things with what we have but it's going to be 2020 and I'm about done with riding a tricycle, I want to move up to the training wheels.
I just think it's a little counterproductive to say, "Imagine how good this would look on the new console!" while the map is made out of Duplo Blocks. If better pieces/objects are available, make a 1:1 that actually looks like a remaster.
This would be a lot like the Farcry 5 arcade editor, which added assets from all prior Farcry games as well as watchdog and assassins creed assets since they're all built for the same engine. Theres actually a rumor that theyre going to rip out the farcry map editor and expand on its multiplayer and ship it as a surprise free to play game ala Apex's launch, sometime before 2020. I know farcry gets a bad rep for... well anything that isn't its single player, but if the rumor is true it could be a nice way to scratch the creative itch until Infinite. That along with Reach's forge and... well whatever may happen with murder minders. Theres so much in the farcry editor that I want in Infinte, from terrain editing, to painting textures and foliage collections.
I've never mentioned the new console just the new Halo, and my point was about the fun of just seeing a super fancy version of a simple Reach textured map. Like I said shits and giggles. It's just amusing to do. Also as I said I've already done the remaster in Halo 5 thing. https://www.forgehub.com/threads/wip-baltis-causeway-little-help.150356/ Yup that's what I'm hoping for. As a matter of fact I would love them adding any assets to the editor that are compatible in the same way Farcry did. Farcry's editor has been in a whole other league since the beginning. This is something I've been recommending they do with the Forge for years. Separate it from the game and allow it to be it's own entity. It should be something that is never finished it just keeps getting reiterations. Think Slipstream with a user friendly Forge overlay. Sure it wouldn't have the raw editing power of slipstream but it technically is the same editor just with a limited UI. This should be even more true with it coming to PC. Unreal Tournaments's engine has been fully available in every iteration since 99. Lets not pretend 343 couldn't offer that access if they wanted. I honestly feel there should be levels of editor unlock. Easy, Normal and Advanced, each with increasing levels of unlock to the editor to better tailor the experience to an individuals skill/comfort level. Yup. I would also love to see the Commander unlocked
