Ah I see your point. I do say I agree that judges aren't "required" to do anything other than choose top maps.

However it is just a nice bonus when they go over why they chose what they chose. It makes the contest much more engaging and it can give mapmakers solace and ways to improve if they get a solid reason from the judges why someone got placed above theirs.

    Make this man a judge!

I like the whole losers bracket idea, allowing people to still claim a title. I’d still like to see a pure feedback phase, by doing this good maps would be a little better, but lagging maps would be significantly improved which would lead to a larger, more playable finalist map selection.

And. Potential should be priority. I wanna hear people say “So many good maps came out of THAT contest”.

Btw. A forgehub ban shouldn’t denied someone from being a judge.

I'd say it's kind of a big problem on a Forgehub sponsored contest. How do you have a judge who can't interact with people on the site or discord? Doesn't really work.
Of course there's a easy work around...either a permanent or temporary lifting of the ban.

Let's just unban him for the contest.

Didn't he ask to be banned anyway?

having radar is a terrible idea,it only rewards the player who is camping/crouching around the map, how do you think that is okay?

That's a pretty defeatist attitude. Make something that's really top notch quality and it doesn't matter who you are. A lot of us here disagree with each other. There's a ton of bickering in the WAYWO all the time lol.

Nothing close to what Id consider any sort of echo chamber.

Lol I think he thought you did.
Which at first glance I did too.
But you were arguing for an all or nothing approach to settings

The feedback has been great. I have read everything post and each time something new is post I read it and make small adjustments to the rules. There are things that almost everyone agrees on and things that everyone dont see eye to eye. I been making sure to really think hard about whats being said here. The rules have changed a lot IMO. We are trying to better. So thank you all for your passion and I am going to try my best to do right by this community.

I think 2 judges with a rotation of randoms to test would be good.

I don't think you've ever known about me Soldat...
Nah, I was saying if we're getting rid of radar as it's free information we should also follow suit with HCS settings and do away with Spartan Charge and Ground Pound as there free power weapons built into your ****ing suit.

Sprint, Clamber, Thrust, and Stabliize aren't that, and separate themselves quite distinctly from Dog Charge and Dog Pound.

Spartan charge and ground pound can be taken into account when designing and especially playing the map. If it's a Halo 5 2v2 contest you want, keep what makes it Halo 5, which are the abilities. Radar doesn't qualify. Unless your map is literally an octagon with completely open lines of sight, it will punish good payers for moving, and it will reward crouching with an ar no matter how the map is designed, or how people attempt to play the map. This will inherently compromise playtesting as any sort of reasonable means by which to judge maps. The effects of radar are unavoidable, and it really isn't integral to the games identity like the abilities are. Every Halo has removed radar in the same way before, and nobody ever seemed to consider that a compromise of the identity of the game. If we really want to annoying split hairs and make arguments like WeLL TeChNiCaLLy RaDaR iS iN tHe GaMe then fine, but straight up that's a silly way to think about this

    Sure.

But not taking them into account, because they aren't available, sounds like less of a headache for everyone involved.

    So I'll pass.

Consider HCS settings a competitive Patch. Developers patch games all the time to fix issues that arrive after release, even if the patch changes the identity of the game. Why would it make any sense to have a competitive 2v2 contest for a pre-patched H5. Literally makes no sense, I can't believe we're even having this discussion.

Also, I'd argue that Radar is integral to the casual identity of Halo. However this is a competitive contest, so we should follow the competitive identity of Halo and the current competitive identity of Halo 5 features no Ground pound or Spartan charge.
